^ Which is 99% of the time. I can't even remember the last time I saw a punch thrown during a bench clearing incident

I wish Carlos Gomez was the last guy in the NL, but it'll be nice to see Morneau back in Minnesota

Tanaka with a partial tear in his UCL.

Ian Desmond just got nailed in the hand, pulled from the game. Christ.

The people who get knocked out at sporting events are rarely innocent.....yes, including Bryan Stowe. I have been to Dodger games in LA wearing a bright orange shirt and a Giants hat. I've been to a Raider game wearing a Jerry Rice Niner jersey. Ive never once been anywhere close to being in an altercation.

Now, I am not condoning the behavior.....but I dont believe for one second that any of these fights happen because a fan (or group of fans) attack a fan of the opposing team without being provoked in one way or the other.

Real life and the internet are two completely different things. Dudes can rant and vent on social media and such all they want, but when you talk trash in real life face to face .....

I don't think anyone in here has made the claim that the woman didn't provoke the attack. And I think it's tasteless on your part to even entertain the notion of her deserving it (despite your claim to not condone the behavior). The woman could have been saying the worst possible things to those Giants fans, and she still wouldn't have deserved being attacked. Unless those men were in physical danger from her they are completely, 100% at fault.

The way I read the article, it sounds like she wasn't hit on purpose and just got caught in the line of fire.

"The woman was attempting to break up a fight between two men, but ended up being punched in the face, according to San Francisco Police."

All the worse. Someone (not the police or security, whom ought to be plentiful enough around a significant game like this one. Ironic given what the Dodgers were found guilty for in the Stow case) was struck when trying to disrupt a dangerous situation. Maybe some people would blame her for intervening to begin with, but I won't be the person that points a finger at someone for trying to do the right thing.

Given that she wasn't the intended party attacked though, I will rescind some of what I said. Though I still feel that it's terrible to allow room for violence to occur over words. Should antagonists shut their dumb***es up? Of course. Do they deserve to be attacked or permanently injured like Brian Stow? Never.

Iono, I went to a Cubs-Mariners game years ago, and there were Seattle fans tryin to start **** with me all day. And I was with friends (who were Yankee fans) mindin our own business.

And really, why on God's earth would Mariner fans take issue with Cub fans?

My wife damn near choked a woman in Seattle for a Hawks-Cowboys game when the fans were sayin **** to her pregnant sister. My wife straight grabbed the woman by her throat and pushed her back.

Both instances, unprovoked.
