How you going to go to a game at the opposing teams place and not expect trash talk to be thrown your way

I could deal with some friendly good natured trash talk. That comes with the territory.

I don't tolerate idiots trying to take it to the next level though and making it personal. Its rare that It happens though if you go to a game, watch your team and act in a civil manner though.

I'm too old to be swinging on some drunken idiot so in a few past cases I've politely told the people running their mouths that I'm not here for no problems but if they keep it up I'm going to text the fan behavior number and most likely they'll be kicked out the stadium. I had no problems after that. I paid for a ticket just like they did. Its nothing wrong with joking around with fans of the opposing team. Its a problem if someone acts like a total jerk just because your cheering for the other team. I won't tolerate that.

I went in on some dodger fans for harassing some giants fan who was with his wife and kids that did nothing to warrant how they were acting to him a few seasons back.

I don't think anyone in here has made the claim that the woman didn't provoke the attack. And I think it's tasteless on your part to even entertain the notion of her deserving it (despite your claim to not condone the behavior). The woman could have been saying the worst possible things to those Giants fans, and she still wouldn't have deserved being attacked. Unless those men were in physical danger from her they are completely, 100% at fault.
The way I read the article, it sounds like she wasn't hit on purpose and just got caught in the line of fire.

"The woman was attempting to break up a fight between two men, but ended up being punched in the face, according to San Francisco Police."

Breaking up fights is a no no for me unless I plan on fighting myself....seen too many folks get dropped or smacked by a bottle trying to break up fights :smh:

Trash talk? There were people walkin up on a pregnant woman dude. My wife was protecting her sister's well being, not saving her from foul language. :smh:

I went to a 9ers-Dolphins game in 2012, that was good natured ribbing. Great day. Not one threatening comment.

Seattle, bunch of losers beggin to get their ***** kicked if they weren't 20 deep. Mob mentality city if I ever saw one.

Love friendly banter, hate when it gets personal, threatening or extra vulgar. Generally baseball avoids that

Good article in USAT about the Pirates outfield :smokin

Need a good nickname

SAN FRANCISCO — A suspect has been arrested in a post-game fight between San Francisco Giants and Oakland A's fans that left a woman hospitalized with serious injuries, San Francisco police announced early Friday.
San Francisco police said the suspect was arrested in Sacramento late Thursday night. No other details were immediately known.
At approximately 5:50 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of 2nd and King Streets after receiving reports of an aggravated assault.
In the incident, two male suspects, a black male age 30 to 35 and a Latino male of approximately the same age, got into a verbal altercation with the victims. One of the suspects then punched the male victim in the face.
The female victim who was wearing an A's cap then tried to break up the fight when one of the suspects punched her in the face, knocking her unconscious.
Both of the assailants then fled the scene.
The female victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where she was treated for serious injuries. San Francisco police said early Friday that she was responding to treatment.
The male victim was treated at the scene for chipped teeth.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the San Francisco Police Department. Tips can be left anonymously at 415-575-4444 or text-a-tip to TIP411 with SFPD at start of message.

The people who get knocked out at sporting events are rarely innocent.....yes, including Bryan Stowe. I have been to Dodger games in LA wearing a bright orange shirt and a Giants hat. I've been to a Raider game wearing a Jerry Rice Niner jersey. Ive never once been anywhere close to being in an altercation.

Now, I am not condoning the behavior.....but I dont believe for one second that any of these fights happen because a fan (or group of fans) attack a fan of the opposing team without being provoked in one way or the other.

Dude.....stop.  Show me where I said that the woman or anyone who gets injured in an altercation at a stadium  "deserved it."  You calling me tasteless for something I didnt even say?  Get off your high horse.

No one "deserves" to be beaten, knocked out, punched, whatever.  That kind of senseless violence has no business in or around sporting events.  All I was saying is that an overwhelming majority of the time, when someone is injured, they are not simply minding their own business.  In this case, the woman seemed to have not been at fault at all....aside from trying to get in the middle of two men fighting.  But I still stand by my statement that if someone gets seriously injured in a fight, there is typically a reason that person was even involved to begin with.

People are stupid and crazy.  Just dont get involved!!

I agree with this to an extent. Most the time if you go to a game and cheer for who you want to cheer for and mind your business nothing happens.

I've seen dudes get messed with just off the bad luck of sitting in the wrong section with the wrong fans though and got harassed unprovoked and Ive seen some opposing team fans act like mr tough guy at doyers games and play a role in what led to an eventual conflict with them taking a L that they provoked by trying to rustle jimmies.

As someone who spent my hard earned money on a ticket I don't have the tolerance level for anyone who takes it to far and tried to start problems when I did nothing to provoke it. If it were to get to that level, I rather just call security or the many LAPD officers patrolling dodger stadium and get them kicked out then put hands on them.
