Does Bob Melvin get fired if the A's miss the playoffs?

Don't think he should be fired due to the team's various injuries and slumps. Baseball managers have the least amount of impact of the major sports and BoMel has demonstrated an uncanny ability to get something out of a patchwork lineup.

I don't know what Billy's intentions are, but if he were to leave this year I could understand. He's made a competitive team out of a grossly unfair market situation and gotten little in terms of respect for it. Whatever he does, I wish him the best.

Turn Down for Buck :pimp: :pimp: :pimp:

Congrats to the Nats and O's and their fans. Hell of a year by both teams.

I hate the O's. But what they did this year with the rotation and dealing with those injuries was great to watch. IDK how much I'll be able to watch if they end up playing Detroit or Seattle  it'll be hard to watch either of those 3 celebrate and move on to the CS.

I think I'm happiest for Nick Markakis, of all people on the squad. That fat ****, Sabathia, ruined his chance to play in the 2012 playoffs :smh: On top of it all, Nick was swinging a hot bat at the time before the injury.

2012, I was just happy to be there...I had ZERO expectations for the squad and was of the mindset "whatever happens, happens."

2014, different story. They need to make some noise. And honestly, anything short of coming out of the AL would be a disappointment.

Hope the O's can carry the success into the post season. Despite injuries, suspensions, etc this team has proven to be resilient. Someone new steps up to produce throughout the season.

Baltimore collectively threw their arms up when they say Jimenez was starting but homey came through... Who new Dave Wallace was tinkering with Jimenez's mechanics the entire time he hasn't played.

Like jjs07 jjs07 , happy for Markakis whose toiled playing here in Bmore... Great to see Adam Jones circle the stadium & give high 5s to all the fans & even pie them up.

Never waivered even when Baltimorons were complaining about Buck... IN BUCK WE TRUST...

LOL, even at Wrigley field... Ooooo....

Kimchi Papi Kimchi Papi my gut feeling is that Steve Pearce is going to have a huge postseason. He's was an unsung hero all year for this squad, and now he gets to do his thing on a national stage. Folks will get familiar.... :pimp:

Coupled with the fact that offense is at an atrocious low right now  there were 12 guys over .400 OBP 10 years ago and this year there are only 2 and they're at .401 on the dot

^If I calculated right Bonds would have been at .391. Thats insane.
