I know, those 9 whole games are really going to ruin his season.......

Isn't it about a month he has to rot to in the minors to keep him under team control for another year?

I hope he reaches a deal with the Cubs so he can start the season in the majors though.

12 days, 9 games.

April 17 he can come up. Season starts April 5th. Doing so gives us his 2021 season. I'd say 9 games,in April, is worth an entire year of his prime.

Is it though? What if they miss the playoffs by a couple games?

I understand both sides of the argument, but it is just stupid having to wait 12 days.

@adamdberry: Brady Aiken, last year's No. 1 Draft pick, left his first start for IMG Academy with a trainer after throwing 13 pitches.

Brady Aiken Leaves Start Early
March 19, 2015 by John Manuel

Lefthander Brady Aiken, pitching for IMG Academy’s postgraduate team for the first time this spring, left his start with an apparent injury after making just 12 pitches and getting two outs.

The unsigned No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 draft, Aiken was facing a team of Canadian amateurs, the Ontario Blue Jays 18U White team. Three sources reported his velocity peaked at 92-93 mph, depending on the radar gun. According to one scout, two of his final three pitches were curveballs, the first at 79 mph and the last at 72. Another source pegged the velocity on the last pitch at 70 mph.

It was Aiken’s first start for IMG, and he was scheduled to be on a 40-pitch limit, according to scouts. Scouts on hand estimate 75-100 scouts were on hand, with multiple representatives from every club except the Astros. The former Cathedral Catholic High star decided to pitch for IMG after failing to sign with the Astros last year and is eligible for the 2015 draft.

@jnorris427: Caught the HP umpire coming out of the locker room. He was in on the meeting and said Aiken told his manager it was "tightness" in his arm.

Who gives a **** if they don't make the playoffs this year? They aren't expected to anyways. They are merely expected to take the next step forward, which even approaching the playoffs would be.

Kris Bryant 162 games at age 29 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kris Bryant 9 games in April at 23.

Trout sat out an entire month before he blew up. April 17th is perfectly fine for Bryant. There's more than enough young guys comin that will go thru similar things. Schwarber, Russell, Almora, etc.

The jerseys are fine, and I love the on field jacket I have. Their t-shirts are terrible though, and that's my biggest complaint. **** feels like heavy sandpaper lol

All the new jerseys I've seen for sale this year are cool base jerseys, which is a million times better than wearing a polyester jersey IMO
