That Mets team should've won a ring. Damn bullpen ****** us over. I was at game 7 in 06. Shea was shaking after Endy made that catch. Thought the upper deck was going to collapse on us the way it was swaying.

Stupid Rick Peterson and his mullet. Peterson was really terrible. The worst pitching coach I've ever seen. I was glad we got rid of him. At least, he was good with Oliver Perez in 06. He screwed up our young promising relievers in Heath Bell and Royce Ring. We gave up on young relievers so quickly.

Heilman was a nightmare even though he was our best reliever in the 06 NLCS. I wasn't really mad at Beltran for not swinging. That curveball was so filthy.

I swore Glavine fixed the last game of our season in 07. How the heck did you give up 7 runs before second out in the first inning? I was there. I can't believe what I saw.

Delgado was the man. I was disappointed when he decided to sign with the Marlins over the Mets. Then I was angry when we had to give up Petit, Mike Jacobs and a minor leaguer for Delgado and $7 mill. Jacobs did well in his first year with Mets. 11 or 12 home runs in around 30 games. Petit was a hot prospect. Lucky for us that Petit and Jacobs went bust.
 
aside from his first year, Beltran was dominant for the Mets. had an 8.3 WAR in 06. dude did everything i can ask of him. that curve was nasty can't even be mad at him it froze me in the mezzanine i could only imagine at the plate.
 
I love that some Mets fans are salty about Beltran :lol: :lol:

He had a handful of good years for y'all

Beltran was great with the Mets. He was hurt for two seasons and still put up numbers in the short amount of games he played those two seasons.
 
Beltran will always be one of my favorite Mets. It's a shame that we didn't have any good long term outfielders beside Beltran. Cameron, Cliff Floyd, Nady, Tatis, Alou, Ryan Church and Shawn Green were good short term pickups. The F-Mart - Beltran - Milledge outfield was supposed to be the next great thing.

feels good that i noticed right away after 1 outing that weaver was washed up. he's gotta call up jamie moyer and ask him how to hang around the league throwing meatballs.
