Reds announcers were talking about Strasburg during his hs/college days. Didn't know he had issues with passion for the sport and being a little ***** :smh:
Tony Gwynn made him into a star. He was a fat **** with no offers before Gwynn found him and brought him to SDSU. Such a fragile little flower Strasburg is.

Bad feeling our series winning streak ends this weekend, we never play well in Cinci. :smh:

He's a beast.  Pitchers basically have to attack him this year considering where he's hitting in that lineup and he's been mashing everything.

Yea I think the streak is over. Hope I'm wrong

"Harper singled off Chapman's 102 mph FB tonight. No other hitter appears to have a hit off a faster pitch in '15."

:pimp:

Jew I've been meaning to ask you and anyone else that knows can chime in, but what's good with scuffing baseballs? What benefit does that provide for the pitcher? Better grip?

First let me say, College Station was very good to me tonight

And a scuff isn't for grip, it's for movement. You angle the scuff in different directions to create different directions.

One of the reasons why umps are so quick to toss a ball out of play is because a little scuff on a ball can go a long way haha

think about a perfect sphere moving through air, itll be smooth. now a ball with a scuff on it, the air will push into the scuff and there will be different/unequal air pressures around the ball, causing it to move/spin/rotate. Imagine a pinwheel...air blasting on it equally, it wont really move. Air coming from one side, itll spin in that direction.

Ump says AJ Ellis sucks at pitch framing, gets ejected, rants postgame  :smh:

Even though the he does suck at it and the ump was probably right, thats pretty damn unprofessional. Call the game at the plate not where the catchers glove is.

I'm not a scientist, so I don't know if I'm using the correct terms here lol

But it doesn't mess with the rotation, just the air pressure and drag around the ball, which creates movement.

if my basic physics is right, i think the air moving around the ball on the scuff side will pass through and "catch" the scuff, and that side will lag a bit, creating spin
