I mean they've won over 80 games per year for 20 years straight so they haven't been bad at all :lol: folks just expect too much from them ever year cause of the name. Their fans as well, we expect to win every year and reaching the world series just isn't good enough.

I hate that. What are 50 AAA games really going to teach him. If he's a better option than what you got, you play him.

But who do you guys think had the better career - Randy Johnson or Pedro Martinez?

Randy has a ton more career wins and strikeouts (also pitched almost 5 years longer)

But Pedro trumps him in career ERA, WHIP, and ERA +


I am leaning towards Pedro.

saw someone tweet that the Mets should look to trade Harvey for a star position player....their argument was that their rotation without Harvey is still elite & he's probably leaving in free agency anyway.

Uribe and Kelly Johnson is laughable.

Everyday people call into WFan saying that but he's under control till 2019 so it shouldn't be a concern :lol: we need to sign cespedes or Upton in the offseason
 
What do you want them to do?

Who is available, Cespedes? That would be great but they'd prob want a ton for him, still a possibility.

Uribe but at least he can play 3rd base until Wright comes back (if he ever does), I don't think this is the only move they will do tbh.

If they do something else it's fine but this is a 36 year old rental whose not going to make much of a difference. Where's he gonna play? We moving Flores back to short and Murphy to second? He's gonna come off the bench and pinch hit? His best asset is his glove but I just don't see much here. Love him on a playoff team but this can't be all we do if we're expected to make the playoffs.

We can get cespedes for a decent price he's a rental. Something like Nimmo and another guy should do it.

Nats are gonna get better Cubs are gonna get better were not making the playoffs just by adding two bench bats.

Kelly Johnson is already the Mets best hitters, they don't need just one hitter, they need several pieces all around.

This is a fine start imo, they need more moves.
 
Werth and Rendon should be back by the series against Miami. Thank the lord. Our lineup tonight is atrocious :x

Meh about the trade. I hope Mets' offense keeps struggling. It will force Sandy and Wilpons to spend a lot of money on a big time hitter this off-season.
