This sport can be a headache

Pitching can be a crapshoot but when guys have electric stuff and command the only deterrent is injuries. I'm not even worried about the next five years I'm concerned with winning now while everyone is here healthy and effective.

You realize youre still approximately two MLB bats and a Bryce Harper away from the injured and depleted current nats lineup right?

yeah because the Nats have been running away with the division all year, right?

please we suck and are still 2 games back. worry about your own team.

Nats had/have all the hype.

The Mets suck and can't hit, yet they're only 2 games back.

It amazing how a good pitching staff can subsidize a bad offense.

My team has had one of the worst case scenarios possible happen to it and your sorry *** squad STILL can't do nothing with us. The worst part is the severe compartmentalized denial you're in one side of your mouth talking about how great your pitching and prospects are but then begging your ownership to trade those prospects for real position players while acknowledging that your ownership won't pay for real talent, then begging them to pay upton or cespedes in the offseason, good luck with conforto

If you've actually read my posts, I've stated numerous the only prospects I'd entertain trading are Brandon Nimmo, Gavin Cecchini, Dom Smith, Rafael Montero and Wheeler. Since Montero is a spare part, Wheeler has awful mechanics and the other hitters are 2+ years away. So yeah, no, you're just making stuff up there.

Just admit you're a homer. Sitting here puffing your chest about being 2 games up over the worst offense in baseball when you were a World Series favorite entering the season.

Hell, I've even stated I'd be happy with Gerardo Parra, basically anyone with a higher OBP than Lagares in center.

You know horrific contract aside, Joey Votto really doesn't get enough attention. Guy has a career .418 OBP. In 2012, played 111 games posted a 5.8 WAR and a .474 OBP. A lot of teams would love him if he wasn't signed to that awful contract till 2023.

I wanna see Yankees Astros in the ALDS. Feel like it could be a classic slugfest. But obviously WC will probably play the Royals.

Explains the deGrom hate
it does but I've always had love for deGrom

weak bats or not the Mets are dangerous if they make it in the postseason
Short series pitching like that is scary. Just like the Giants in 2010.

Said it after we played them a month ago. That 4 game series felt like the alds and it could go either way. Yanks have the offense and bullpen tho
Would be a really fun series to watch.

The Mets don't suck, they were preseason postseason sleeper picks as well and are performing up to par. Their offense sucks, but the team doesn't. I know it was early in the season, but they had a 10 game lead in the division...the Nats 26-5 run (best in franchise history) is the only reason they're in first.

Mets are only 2 games back because their pitching has saved their behinds many times
