In regards to Chris Davis:

I saw this being discussed on Twitter last night.

If anyone has a baseball prospectus sub, there is a newer article about Chris Davis.

A lot of people don't understand just how important mechanics are. Guys don't hit bombs because they are strong, they hit bombs because of of their swings.

Span on a rehab assignment right now, might go check out a game in Potomac. However, his return is too little, too late.

you posted that WAR graph again

fixed. I knew that link looked wrong, but that's what was showing up in my browser. I was looking at it like :nerd:

damn you, google chrome
good read. seems like he originally instilled some of the principles Tewksbary talks about.

quit acting like Span is going to save the Nats
Long as Bobby Parnell pitches in high leverage situations, the Nats have a chance.

Yesterday was not his fault.  He made a perfect throw to second base for an easy double play and your middle infield effed it up.

Parnell did NOT deserved to be booed off the field yesterday.  I felt bad for him.

Did not? He walked the first batter he faced. Relievers have to do their job from the get go, not come in and automatically put someone on board. He singlehandedly lost 2 crucial games this series.

He's the key to the offense. If he were healthy all year the team wouldn't be sputtering like this. They might not be in 1st, but they wouldn't be this anemic. The record for when he plays and doesn't play speaks for itself.

I can read and talk about hitting all day

Social media and the internet in general is making it much easier for youth instructors to actually understand how the swing works to produce the best results.

i imagine if i had these resources growing up i'd have more than 1 career double to my name.

Sorry @JohnnyRedStorm  .  You are my guy and all, but I absolutely disagree with you on this one.

Should relievers walk the first guy they face?  Absolutely not.  But Parnell made the second guy he faced bounce into what should have been a routine double play.....but was botched because of terrible communication/effort by your middle infield.  If that play is made, Parnell has a successful outing.

I cannot speak on the other game you say he lost for you, but yesterday I totally disagree with you.  Parnell should have finished the inning with zero damage.
