Can't watch highlights of that game and the pre-game without feeling a certain kinda way.

Mets fan at heart :smokin

That was such a horrific month for my family, friends and city that the Mets/Piazza that night really went a ways to forget about it for a second and to smile again.

I don't think there will ever be a more crushing sports loss to me than Mo giving up that flare. Winning that would have meant more than any other chip my teams have won or will win.

:smh:

Birdman's gotta step up..
if Bird crushes it down the stretch and the playoffs, does well in spring training, i really dont know how you can send him back to triple a. i know cashmere wants him to get playing time everyday, but if he's ready, he's ready. reminds me al little of ryan howard being stymied by thome.

Alex isn't getting any younger so Bird/Teix could both DH when needed.

should be an interesting winter...

Francesa mentioned how they might be able to trade Tex if they eat some money. Also suggested moving Ellsbury but mentioned it being incredibly difficult because of the contract.

considering his age & inury history trading Teix would be hard, too.

i can't wait till Beltran's gone so Judge can flourish :smokin

for whatever reason the organization hates Refsnyder so i fully expect Drew to be the 2B next season :smh: :smh:

hype to see the cubs play tonight hopefully most of the starters play in the 2nd game which im sure they will

Teixeira only has one year left... So trading him wouldn't be too hard, if you eat some of that money.

I really dislike Francesa.. No damn reason to trade Ellsbury.

Really? You don't mind having a guy putting up Brett Gardner numbers at 10x the price

Brett Gardner's getting $12mil a year.

And first 2 months of the season, he was hitting in the .320s. Gets injured, and had trouble getting back into the swing of things in July. Got red hot for a few weeks in August. Then the past week and a half has cooled off.

But he's proven incredibly valuable in conjunction with Brett Gardner as the 1-2 hitters.

So absolutely not.

Francesa is an *** hat

He's 32, under contract till 2020, making a ton of money. Just doesn't seem wise at all to hold onto him moving forward. Francesa aside, Ellsbury is a depreciating asset.

Still has tremendous value to the team, and for the most part, they are invested in these teams the next few seasons. So trading him doesn't help them at all. It makes things much much worse.

And he is not blocking a single player in the minors. Only 3 OFers are in the Yankees Top 20. Aaron Judge, a RF. Mason Williams who has fallen a lot in terms of the vision in him, and only slightly started to come back from the huge hole he dug. And Jack Cave is nowhere near ready, nor is he projected to be an everyday player.

So there is still no reason to trade him.

@JuliaMoralesRS: Astros open series in Anaheim with their ace. Keuchel at home: 13-0, 1.49 ERA. On the road: 4-6, 3.35 ERA.

 lol what?

I mean, there's 105 million reasons to trade him. He's got probably, two years left at this current level, and then you're looking at a LF with 0 pop and a .300 OBP.

Without a doubt. I don't know why, but I played a clip of the bloop this morning... |I

That's when I first remember learning Mo was mortal. I cried like a baby.
