Any fan of a "small market team" has to support this decision.Its not like they're making it where 16 teams out of 30 make playoffs, they're just making sure teams that deserve to make it actually do. This will make for a lot more real exciting "cinderella" runs for the title, how can you be opposed to that?

I'd say one extra WC team and that's it. That would make it perfect IMO. Also, less breaks between games

I like it the way it is already, I don't feel the need to add anymore playoff teams. It's tough to make it to the playoffs in baseball, but that is what makes it exciting IMO. I guess 1 extra WC team isn't that big of a deal, but I don't really see the need to fix something that isn't broken. It'll be interesting if they go with a 3 game 1st round though, that would be intense.

Only reason I say one extra WC team is to give teams incentive to actually win their division. Just like last year for example. Neither the Yanks or Rays cared down the stretch who won the division because they knew they were both getting in, so it got a little dull. With one extra WC team they now both are in a real fight to win the division because none of them would want to play a winner take all game or short best of 3 while the other team is getting some much needed rest.

Won't this make the season longer? The season is already too long with world series going into November every year

I just don't like the idea of playing 162 games for a three game series.
