Apparently we get two players to be named, and in the pool is Neil Ramirez still. So we could possibly get Olt, Edwards, and Ramirez with a backend rotation guy and then whatever the conditions are for the second PTBN? Sounds like we did alright there.

Olt was untouchable last year at this time, is that true? We bought while his stock had dropped? Try to get him back on track otherwise he sits in the Minors with Brett Jackson for the next 15 years.
The Rangers apparently said its only one PTBNL, the report was false. But it does sounds like its probably Ramirez, the Cubs just want more time to evaluate his health concerns...

And yeah, bought low on Olt. He's always been a swing and miss guy, but had some pretty severe issues early this year and missed time with what they called blurred or loss of vision, something along those lines. Been OK since coming back, but not at the level he was last year. He had no position here, so that kinda made him expendable for the Rangers..

Good haul for the Cubbies, for sure.

They're building some good depth, that's for sure. Maybe not top end guys but guys to fill some spots.

So we get Darvish, Ogando, Garza and Holland. Thanks Theo  :smh:

Someone page JPZ. I wanna take a look at that homer Jay02 defending Braun relentlessly.

I've been saying he used them though. I just didn't care. I'm just happy that we have a guy good enough for others to care that much :D. Trust me I have told my friends many times that if Braun wasnt on my team I would probably hate him. Not because of roids but because he has a douchey vibe. But he's on my team and he's a boss regardless so whatever. If he had to get suspended I'm thrilled its for the rest of this year cause we don't have a chance of doing anything and he's got a messed up thumb. Braun won again :smokin

I didn't care when Clemons got caught. I didn't care when bonds got caught. I didn't care when McGwire got caught. I don't care that Braun got caught.

Everyone's doing it and I don't care. If they want this out of the game ban them for life the first time they get caught.

MLB would never do that, would be bad for business.

Even catching players is bad for business, they just want to make an example of the big names here and there to scare others from doing the same, their testing has been a joke.

Again, PEDS are nothing like cortisone shots. Don't even bunch them together, or mention them together.

Athletes who take cortisone shots take them for pain.

Athletes who take peDS take them for improved results. Ppl on are just a couple yea ago thought you had to be big to use steroids, i bet there are still those folks.

Peds allow athletes to work harder longer. 100% of roids headsactually work harder than the clean athletes. That's what the drug does. So you can go past normal human limits. Cortisone and amphetamines do not do that.

I have a Question bc i don't have any stats around, do y'all remember how hard it was to be a member of the 30/30 club? For like 75 yrs there were a handful of those seasons. Since the steroids era, how many have there been? Im guessing A Lot.

You don't know what you are talking about, the information you think exists doesn't actually exist.

I hate to do this again but and im not going to all the detail linking to all those sources but.

These are the facts.

1. League power or offense was not inflated in the "steroid era."
2. League power did not rise througout the "steroid" era
3. Individual power numbers were not more volatile than normal (players were not seeing random spikes of offensive performance more than normal)
4. Baseball swings are more complicated than more muscle = better swing = better results. The science related to the effects of steroids on actually successfully hitting a baseball is vague and murky.

BUT WHAT IS NOT VAGUE AND MURKY IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FATIGUE/WAKEFULNESS ON HAND EYE COORDINATION AND EYE SIGHT.

Being at peak alertness is a much more reliable and useful for enhancing performance on a baseball field.

Sometimes I think you really have never played a sport in your life...

I have and its not relevant, I use to believe what you believed and I took a class on biomechanics and I researched this for a project and the more ACTUAL INFORMATION I got the more I realized that steroids are vastly vastly overstated in baseball.

also MLB started juicing the ball in 1994, this im basically certain of.

But the yanks need A-Rod, why cant they just leave us alone, we got nobody left ....

Lets go jets ....

Jason Grilli left in the 9th.
Michael Sanserino ‏@msanserino 18m I've never seen a winning clubhouse that somber. #Pirates say Jason Grilli has right forearm discomfort, will evaluate further.
UCL?

Time for Melancon to shine.

If it's a serious injury it sucks it had to happen to Grilled Cheese.

So I play for a weekend softball right team now Osh? It's just a coincidence that the three biggest, strongest guys on my team drive the ball father than everybody else? They just happen to all have the best swings?

Is it slow pitch softball? Because that's completely different than hitting a baseball in the pros and honestly you can't even compare the two.

Where's that clown on here from Wisconsin talkin all that **** about kemp and defending Braun?
All I have to say is

I was sitting 1st row behind the dugout at the WBC and the US players were getting salty after I was mentioning Braun on roids

"@joecapMARLINS: #Marlins option Derek Dietrich and Marcell Ozuna to Jax; Christian Yelich (#21) and Jake Marisnick (#23) to be selected tomorrow"

Ozuna has been a solid player for the Marlins...I would hate to play for that organization, probably sent him down because of service time :smh: what a joke of a franchise.

:smh: Ozuna was holding his own...wish someone who cared about winning ran the Marlins...one day

Wonder what kind of suspension A-Rod gets :nerd:

I heard the evidence on him is way more then they had against Braun. Also wonder if the Yankees are trying to hold A-Rod out of the bigs so they can void his contract if he gets suspended soon. Even though I doubt they can do that I'm sure they are trying to find a loophole to get out of his contract

what a joke of a franchise.
Ehh.  It was only a matter of time before Yelich got called up, unfortunately it coincided with Ozuna going through a major slump.

Not pretty numbers for someone you have sitting in the 4/5 hole.  They could have just moved him lower in the order but clearly they'd rather give their more touted prospects some playing time.
