I can see both sides to this argument. Managing is a mixture of playing the numbers and feel. Good teams can make bad managers look good, example Ron Washington. Bad teams can make good mangers look bad.
If the Cardinals score more runs, none of this gets questioned.
There are valid points both ways, it's just an argument that has no conclusion. Poor results don't always mean the wrong decision was made. Good results don't always mean the right decision was made.
Players have more of an impact on the game than a few moves a manager may or may not make in a game.
