been beaned twice after homering off maholm in yrs past..back story, indeed.
In any case...its always a minority player stylin and an upset white player/analyst/manager invoved....lmao.

I made a thread about this earlier. Baseballs unwritten rules are a joke. I wish a player would press charges after intentionally being drilled or wait until after the game and beat the daylights outta the pitcher that purposely drilled him. Pitchers get butthurt off any emotion a batter shows and McCann was completely outta line today

U know the old phrase "act like you've been there before".

Im all for enjoying yourself..but theres a fine line.

The gomez-maholm situatios is 100% personal.

I didn't watch the game nor viewed highlights until now.

But each of the guys pimping their home runs are young or rookies. Only veterans can get away with this behavior like Papi, Manny..

I agree with the act like youve been there before mindset but throwing a 90mph fastball at someone that could potentially injure someone just because your mad they showed you up is over the line and has no place in the sport. I personally feel that pitchers who do it, ex (cole hammels Bryce Harper last year where cole publically acknowledged intentionally beaning him, Ryan dempster arod from last month) should be suspended for 50 games without pay to set an example that stuff shouldn't be tolerated in the sport. Unintentionally hitting someone is understandable but intentionally doing it is going to far.

Also pitchers tend to celebrate in ways that could be seen as showing up the hitter when getting a key strike out and rarely hit and in the case of al pitchers never hit unless their playing a road interleague game. They can show up hitters with no reprecussions and in the event there is retaliation, its one of their teammates getting beaned instead.

I see u...however, I wasn't standing by the cliche..just quoting it...baseball ppl(not just players and managers) r way uptight. But u cant OD it. As for criminal charges/50 gm suspensions....not sure the PA would allow that. But, yeah. ..I saw grienke get thrown at earlier this yr...so im on board with some sort of enforcement.

I doubt the PA could do anything about charges being pressed though. Especially in a case like cole hammels situation where he flat out admitted to the media he drilled him on purpose. I hope those unwritten rules loosen up as time passes though. Its one thing to have a traditionalist mindset but another to keep an outdated way of thinking going. I'm glad they threw at Greinke. Pitchers should get dealt with if their hitting batters on purpose. I remember that Greinke Carlos quinten thing from early this year was a huge deal.

I was referring to az(kennedy)throwing at grienke..puig was hit in the head first. Then grienke realiated by hitting am az batter in the torso. Then kennedy threw at grienke. In the head. Totally uncalled for..unwritten rules say it was settled..u hit our star in the head...we hit 1 of yours....also..there was zero intention om grienkes part to hit quentin who alwyas leans over the dish to begin with. 2-1 gm at the time.

Yeah your right I got the 2 mixed up. Quentin has gotten drilled alot of the years unintentionally because of how he bats.

That Arizona brawl was something else. Then they have the nerve to cry about the doyers celebrating on their field.

^^100% agree. Now, youre just messing with the official scoring...lol. let duke cross home and then intercept on the way back to the dugout.

word....
Another note..without unwritten rules/proper enforement..where does it start/end...etc....

Even if they let em settle it like hockey players...where do u draw the line....imagine that...a guy styles it at home...gets drilled next ab...he charges the mound and they just duke it out. Lol

McCann is the team leader so of course hes been first to be involved in all these altercations. If Chipper were playing he would have done the same.
