Dodgers in 6.

Wainwright pitching tonight means he likely won't be able to go until game 3. Grienke/Kershaw games 1 and 2 works in the dodgers favor.

If the dodgers win game 1 and Kershaws on the mound game 2 this series could play the dodgers way. Should be interesting though.

dodgers got nothing on the cardinals.
it will be my red sox and cardinals for the rematch of '04. we sweep the series again and i will cry.

Bruh if you didn't introduce me to my future wife I'd drive to Oxnard and fight you

Cardinals in 7

Will be a classic series

Hanley or Puig start a war of words with someone from the Cardinals.

Cardinals in 7. These guys seem like they want it for each other more than anything.

Want a good series, regardless. Think it should be.

I think this does a great job of helping people who don't already see the racial issue of having a team named the Cleveland Indians and using a racist caricature of a Native American. But I do think it's great that Cleveland uses their C logo hat a lot, and I can't remember the last time I saw the mascot on the uniform. Did it happen at all this season?

- The A's got jobbed with that HR call, Reddick would have gotten a piece of it IMO. But bases loaded and no outs? WTF is Reddick even swinging at there? Max had some balls to throw that pitch though  I was against bringing Max in and he ended up giving up a run anyway. Why not Smyly with 4 lefties :smile:eek) in a row coming to the plate? They put themselves down and in a position in the 7th that they never had to be in IMO but it worked out for them.

- The Pirates were swinging at EVERYTHING last night  I think Wainwright only had 1 K through 7. It's hard to go against LA with Zach/Clayton in Games 1-2/4-5 and both available in 7. I still think Greinke goofs a start or two. I'll take the Cards in 6.

- Girardi back

My eyes and depth perception must be broke. No way he got it IMO.

I got A's tonight, Tigers have lost like 10 of Verlanders last 11 starts. It's probably a random occurrence but still absurd.

As a giants fan it's f LA all day so I'm rooting for the cards. Plus we're taking turns winning the World Series so you guys are up.

They have very rarely ever had Chief Wahoo on their tops. There was a span in the early 2000s where they had alternate vest joints with it, but that's it.

Hate the logo, personally. What little apparel I do own features the block C.

I think this is reaching pretty far.

Calling someone a "jew" or "********" is almost always used in a negative connotation. I don't see "Indians" in the same way.

To the Pirates fans of NT: You guys played a great series and it's good to see your team competitive again and you guys definitely have a bright future. We need to bring back the NL Central thread next season (still can't believe we didn't have one this year).

To the Dodgers fans on NT -  This should be a great series and though I want my Cards to win it all; I can't pretend a small part of me won't be happy for you guys if you get the better of us. The Dodgers and their fan base have always had the utmost respect from me.

Native Americans are not Indians. I think when "Indians" is coupled with a racist caricature like Cleveland has, it is racist. I wrote before that Native Americans are not Indians, but I see in the image that they refer to themselves as such. I personally would call that an ignorant misnomer, but if they accept that as their identity, so be it.

You may not see it as an issue because you've become inured to it by society, which isn't the fault of any one individual, but of the collective for not standing up for the rights of all people. Of course, when the population of Native Americans are hardly able to speak for themselves due to their decimated numbers, it makes sense that not enough people feel empathy for their plight in comparison to other minority groups.

I love the Chief Wahoo logo, I don't care what anyone says.

And the Indians organization still uses the Indians logo, on the ball caps and tops.

Cuse, you may well be right  I haven't seen it since the night but I thought he would have at least got the Endy cone on it. Maybe.

that is spot on.

However, the Cleveland baseball team isn't using the name in an insulting manner. The need for political correctness is just too much in certain situations.

I just think given this talk concerning the Washington football team (lol), more needs to be done. Even the Notre Dame Fighting Irish is drawing on stereotypes and uses a derogatory image for its mascot, but I'll avoid going further because this is the MLB thread and I'm sure most here aren't interested in discussing these issues in this thread.

I just thought to post the picture because it used the Indians cap.
