Wins don't matter as a pitching statistic. The fact he has 0 wins is pretty much irrelevant.

Doubt it. Teams and agents are smarter than that now.

How is it irrelevant? Yes he can only do so much pitch and yes Jeff Samardzija's career to this point can be seen as a disappointment. But don't say wins don't matter to a pitcher on the edge of the HOF with lets say 200-210 wins who is on the outside looking in. That may or may not get to 250.

I'm sure guys still have incentives based on certain stats, and wins could be one of them.

I know if Rafael Soriano finishes, not even closes, like 30 more games this season he gets about $14M as apart of his deal.
