Is it wrong of me to think that MLB not honoring the deceased is that big of a deal? They honored them when they died and their teams have worn a patch in honor of them. Plus like I said before, they were honored yesterday during the derby.

Freddie Coleman is going in on the MLB for not honoring to HOFers that passed this year, during the Allstar game.

Mentioned Tony Gwynn and Ralph Kiner.
The MLB lost like 20 or so players in the last year though.
Yup. Someone mentioned that MLB did a tribute for Ted Williams when he died a couple weeks before the All-Star game. Just found it odd that there was no mention of him.

BTW: I wonder if Coleman would be going in like that if the game was on ESPN.

When was this? Not sure why he would say that other than trying to keep face, which at any rate wouldn't matter anyway  .

I tend to forget he was even a Mariner TBH. Like, I obviously know he was, but I first think Yankee and then Ranger before I recall the M's.
Friend of mine thinks Russel Wilson means more to Seattle sports than Griffey does.

Thoughts?

Idk about that. You could make an argument I guess, but Griffey kinda put Seattle on the sports map. Who was relevant in Seattle before him? Steve Largent?

I've always liked Freddie Coleman.

He's one of my favorites on the radio.

Yep. I hate his time slot though. I rarely get to catch his show. Move him to the mornings and do away with Mike & Mike.

cosign

I've heard his nightly slot is given to him because his way of talk, his calm inflections and his choice mainly, would love to see anybody replace Mikes though. Can't rally feel those 2 at all

Your friend has to be under 25 to say something that foolish...

Griffey's Upper Deck rookie card alone is more iconic than Mr.Wilson...

That's just living in the moment, if you ask me. Any well-rounded Seattle sports fan still holds Griffey above all.

If those 90s Mariners win it all once, I doubt it's even close. Actually if the 01 Mariners win it all I'm pretty sure they're the most popular franchise in Seattle, but idk. I live in Cali

Benny Hinn Benny Hinn I think you're right though. If ESPN covered it, this subject wouldn't have been discussed in any time block on air or the tele

Your friend must be young....

People in Seattle love the Beast more than Russ

Are more cities baseball towns or football towns? I've always felt like baseball teams were more closely linked to their cities but now that I think about it, probably not.

Baseball has become a local sport. Which is 1 reason it's falling behind NFL & NBA. People dont have time to follow all 30 teams anymore and too many games. I personally only watch and go to Dodger games. I honestly didnt even know who Todd Frazier was.

D.C. is a football town and it's not even close.

I don't know if it's fell behind the NBA. NFL definitely though. Other than the NFL all sports are local and NBA's ratings have been down since Jordan retired. If not for Lebron, idk if the NBA would be relevant on a national scale. There are like 3 cities where the the basketball team is more popular than the baseball team, if that.

Baseball hasn't fallen behind the NBA, at least in revenue. The MLB still brings in more cash than the NBA, gets more television viewers than the NBA, and attendance has continued to rise around the league for the past 9 years, while the NBA has supposedly fallen behind the NHL in attendance this past season.

No way the World Series gets bigger tv ratings than the NBA finals. And I'm sure they rake in more revenue because of the bigger stadiums. Attendance I'll bet is up or steady because like I said, it's become a local sport.

No way MLB is more popular on a national scale than the NBA. The NBA has the most popular and marketable individual athletes than any sport. Yes, even the NFL.
