I'm admittedly partial towards Ellsbury so I won't get into that debate, but Upton deserves that NL MVP with Fielder a close second. Justin proved it tonight with leadership and his bat, I'm confident he'll continue to do so as Arizona looks to lock up the division from SF's grasp.

And I'm admittedly not the biggest fan of Ellsbury and Dusty

Upton did show me up tonight

one thing that kid can do is crack some bombs out there in Arizona. It's crazy that BJ got more headlines for being possibly traded that Upton has got for anything this year. I'm curious to hear why you'd pick Prince over Braun, IMO pretty clear cut Braun is the better player this year.

Cliff Lee just hit a ground ball to Brandon Phillips, took two steps towards first, never dropped the bat, then waved like "#!%$ it."

Jesus Did Not Come to Save The Bronx.

Spoiler [+]
After months of hype, discussion, and lobbying, Jesus Montero has finally joined the New York Yankees. With rosters expanding for September, the Yankees have called their top prospect up to join the big club, and the rumblings are that he’ll be in the line-up tonight, serving as the DH against Jon Lester in Boston. That might seem like quite a way to make a debut, but Montero is viewed as quite a talent – as one team official told Joel Sherman, “By the playoffs, he will be our best DH option.

I LOVE that kid

his game, his demeanor, his intensity. Jays got a lot of money, that could possibly be a four team race next year.

Craig Kimbrel continues to build on his ridiculous rookie season. While he’s been mentioned as a popular Rookie of the Year Award candidate, Kimbrel notched his 41st save last night — a rookie record — which should only increase his candidacy in the voters’ eyes. The save stat may be criticized in the advanced stats community, but the BBWAA voters still seem to hold the save in high regard. Last season, for example, Neftali Feliz won the award based on his high saves total despite finishing behind Brian Matusz in WAR. It wasn’t an egregious error, but it goes to show that the save still matters to the voters. With Kimbrel reaching heights no other rookie closer has reached before; has he all but locked up the National League Rookie of the Year Award?

Based on recent trends — especially in the American League — there’s a really good chance the NL R.O.Y. race is already over. While few rookies are actually thrust into the closer role — likely due to their manager preferring someone with a “closer mentality

Was B.L in the Brewers system before being traded for Shaun Marcum or am I mistaken?

For those without the beer googles on, is it at all possible that the Brewers catch and surpass the Phillies for best record in the NL if they take 3/4 this coming weekend and somehow sweep the Cards as well?

Yesterday I got to watch a rookie pitcher stroll through this horrific Orioles lineup (Hellickson had like 75 pitches going into the ninth
sick.gif
), and today I'm watching a guy who was one of the most promising young left handers out there (Matusz) top out at 90 mph and get chased in the second. I'm a longtime supporter, but this is just an awful, awful baseball club.
