I don't know how anyone can hate the addition of the 2nd wild card. I love it. Wild Cards now have to win a game to make it to the real playoffs and they start that series without their Ace. Plus, it adds way more excitement. The Angels would be running away with he WC in years past. This year you have 3 or 4 other teams that still have a real shot at making it.

On an Angels related note; What is up with Trout's strikeout rate this season? He's on pace to set his career high in the next week or so :smh:

I'd be pissed if I had the name Blake Money, but my little brother got Cash Money... That's basically just telling you that Cash is the favorite.

The only thing the 2nd wildcard does is prevent some teams from being sellers at the trade deadline. Right now, the Mets are only 6.5 games back of a wildcard spot. Other than that, it brings a lot of excitement. That scene in Pittsburgh last year during the Wild Card game was great.

I didn't like the 2nd wild card team at first but it has grown on me a bit. I just don't know how I feel about the 1 game playoff. If the top 2 records in baseball come out of the AL West this year, and the 2nd wild card team in the AL is more than 5 games back from the first wild card team, I think it's BS that they have to play a 1 game playoff.

I get it, win your division and you don't have to worry about it. Part of me would like to see a 3 game series, but the 1 game is really exciting.

Just pitchers pitching him up and in more often. Sacrificing the contact for power and it's working for the team I suppose  he's still MVP so far. Amazing that it looks like it may be a down year compared to his first two.

Definitely. His shoulder is a huge concern. But then again, if Tyson Ross can put together a healthy season, so can Cash. That org has so many pitchers with health concerns :smh:
Feels like San Diego won't be competitive in the foreseeable future. Botched the Headley situation. Houston and the Cubs have hope, Pads do not however.

If I'm not mistaken, Pro went on that vent about the Royals bein overrated, and they haven't lost since.

:nerd:

 and they have 12 of 13 coming up against last place teams. I'm not gonna let 22 games change my mind on the players they have but hey, more power to them for turning it around. But then again, no one ever wants to hear how overrated Detroit has been for years

It's gotta be Trout. However, if Jose Abreu wasn't on a fourth place team I'd give him a ton of consideration.

If the O's leave Ubaldo in Cleveland after this series, I'd consider the season a success regardless of what happens with the team in the playoffs (assuming they make it).

I'd say right now...it'd be Trout/Felix/Donaldson/Bautista/Abreu...last 3 in some order. I could see Felix losing some votes between Cano and Seager. Gordon would be up there if voters really recognized how important his defense is and his offense is the only consistent one there. Brantley probably get some love too.
