No way I would do that ....how many years is he locked into St. Louis?

Doesn't even matter. No way I'm giving up a signed ball by Babe Ruth for a #.

The Giants go screwed point blank end of story.

I dont see the problem with Lackey doing what he did for his number.

Some players have paid an extraordinary amount of money to get their old numbers from teammates before.  It's not uncommon at all.

Pat Neshek won. Its a ball signed by Babe Ruth.... I'd be interested to know what offers Neshek turned down.

Have any of y'all ever pulled a tarp before? We had to do that **** in HS and it's ridiculous. Don't blame the cubs guys one bit haha

Thats there job. They do it right the first time and there is NO problem. Once the tarp was covered with water they were assed out.

The umps were told there would be a slight drizzle, clearly, they got a brief downpour they did not expect. They tried to finish out the top of the 5th with it heavily raining, by the time they called the groundscrew, it was already too late. Moving the tarp on a drenched field isn’t easy. As was seen.

And the part of the field that go left uncovered, wasn’t even the reason the game was called. The outfield was, the outfield doesn’t get covered anyways. They used enough dri mix on the dirt to get the infield in better shape, but the outfield was screwed up. Theo and the Cubs offered to have the game suspended, rather than called. MLB declined, and said 5 innings was enough, it’s an official game. So they waited over 4 hours to try and dry it out as best they could to resume the game.

If they knew there would be a brief rain delay, the umps should have stopped the game asap, covered the field quick, wait it out, then untarp, resume. They didn’t do that. They tried to finish the top of the 5th, with a heavy rain already falling. That’s not on the groundscrew.

Whine and cry all you want, you guys sound ridiculous right now. You want to blame the crew, Cubs, umps, bad weather, bad luck, Bud Selig, bad dirt, history, anything you can think of, but your own damn team for not scoring in 5 innings, when the Cubs scored in just 4. That’s the end of the story, right there. Stop scapegoating things to make yourselves feel better.
John Shea@JohnSheaHey 3m

Multiple reports confirm #sfgiants won protest and will resume game tomorrow at 4 Chicago time.

Would be hilarious if the giants missed the playoffs by one game. Oh man

At this point, I'm rooting for that. Bunch of Sally's I tell ya.

Krukow was crying within seconds, like serious dude?

And the crew was ordered off the field by the umps to let it dry, but let Giant fans tell it.

I mean while I love weird home field doings, this probably makes the most sense. You know it's bad if a protest was actually won

So the delay helps the Giants since the pitcher that was shutting them out will be unavailable.

And they get Edwin Jackson tonight.

Thank God, they can go back in their holes now and we don't have to hear Giant fans no more. :pimp:

Still cant admit you were on the wrong side of this debate huh CP?

It's all good.  I wont hold it against you.

I wasn't wrong about anything, I said from the first post, I could care less. I'm just laughing at how pathetic you guys are. You two, Krukow, that John Shea dude, Bochy, all a bunch of *******.

They complaining because the grounds crew is watering the field today.

They asked for a forfeit. But were denied.

And the whole time, it's a game they were being shut out in, and now that pitcher won't get to return, but they all upset about it.

But I'm wrong.

What a surprise, you are missing the point again.  They were "all upset about it" because it was ruled to be a LOSS yesterday.  You think anyone (myself, Krukow, very well respected baseball analysts like Shea, Rosenthal, Law, Olney, Reynolds, etc.) would have complained if they immediately said that the game would be made up?

Yes, you are wrong.  MLB rectified this today.  Its apparent to everyone but you.

Carry on.

You ******* dudes were complaining while they were still rolling the Tarp.
