The AL Central will be extremely competitive this year :pimp: Should be fun to watch, glad I like all of the teams in that division

they sooooo mad doe

Homegrown 2010 players

But thank you for playing, salty Socal fans.

Bay Area folks stay being the most sensitive dudes on the planet, must be something in the water. Every team is built with the majority of players being "homegrown".

The statement I was pointing out was even more ironic when it stated, they should use money to sign their own homegrown players, when the Angels just signed (arguably) the best player in baseball Mike Trout. Who I believe is homegrown.

A homegrown core with FA acquisitions and trades to solidify that core is EXACTLY how you're supposed to do it. Giants are doin' it right.

Thanks Watson...

...but that's what almost every team has been doing since, forever. even the Yankees. Also helps that the Giants just know how to kick in that extra gear when in the playoffs.

If I am an A's fan, I am so pissed off with everything that has happened recently.  I understand their model.  Trade guys at their peak for a group of prospects.  It  has worked in the past.  I get it.

But these last couple trades have made no sense.  The Donaldson trade, although I think Lawrie is a waste of space, was understandable.  The Moss and Samardzija trade arent.  They traded two guys with a lot of value for low end prospects.  Semien is a utility player or borderline starting player.  The player the got for Moss was struggling to to hit .250 in AA.

Billy has made some good moves in the past.  These last two trades just baffle me though.  If you are going to blow your team up and rebuild, you would think he would get better prospects....provided the fact that he is moving All Stars for them.

Thanks Watson...

You're the one who had to address this with snarky remarks like homegrown talent wasn't a huge part of the Giants winning these World Series'. You said, "your core is, but that's about it..." How is anyone else supposed to interpret that unless you clearly state your full opinion?

And I'm fully aware of teams doing this in the past. The Yankees of the late 90's to early 00's was a perfect example. And no, not every team does that. They might try, but they fail...Just like the Blue Jays, Mets, so on a so forth.

Can't stand replies like that. :smh:

Detroit is about to overreact to the White Sox getting Robertson and Samardzija and give Scherzer and Price $150-200M each.

Scherzer doesn't want to stay in Det I thought? He already turned down a big contract with them.

Yankees told Robertson last night that they wouldn't make him an offer.

I don't know if he doesn't wanna stay in Detroit but I think him turning down the offer had more to do with Boras wanting his clients to become free agents so they can get what he thinks is the best deal possible. Boras probably thinks he can get him 6-7 years $150-190M, thats why he turned down the 6 year $144M deal.

I still don't see how you turn down 6 years $144. With so many injuries and so many "what ifs" that can happen, I don't think it is worth the risk. Obviously it may work out for him now, but if I would have been in that same position a year ago no way I turn that down

Only way to get a catcher since the Montero for Ethier swap fell through.

Don't like Montero but dumping Ethier would've been a plus on top of that, anything is better than AJ Ellis.

Also MLB Japanese All Star :smile:lol) Drew Butera got traded to the Angels (DFA'd a couple days ago). Another stiff I will not miss.

Cubs bring in Dempster as a front office consultant, a former Lester teammate, then Hammel, another former Lester teammate.

Kid is in high demand.

Sooo I'll no longer get to see those suits on MLB tonight?

:smh: :\

Dodgers don't want to move him but no one wants Crawford or Ethier because of their contracts.
