If you're a Padres fan, are there any?, there should be a little concern that Peller just completely depleted the farm system for 3 high risk, high reward players. If Myers and Kemp are healthy and Upton stays sharp then he'll look like a genius. However if Myers and Kemp continue to deal with injuries and Upton bounces after 2015... Well, talk about pie in the face.

If you're an NY fan and you don't want Tulo, you deserve the misery that is the cellar in the NL East. Hands down the best all around SS in baseball, miscues are few and far between, his biggest issue is staying healthy. Plus, the Mets are not the Yankees, scrutiny isn't the same.

The whole "san Diego has no fans" is tired.. Nobody goes to chargers games because it takes hours of sitting in traffic to watch a mediocre team in an awful stadium, Padres at petco is another story even though they've sucked for about a decade. As a lifelong padres fan from San Diego, these moves are already worth it from the boost of morale in the fan base, people are excited about Padres baseball for the first time in a long time. An overlooked fact in all this is that this team won 77 games last year off of pitching alone. Even if all these players have well below average years, this just became a 90 win team

I remember when the Mets wouldn't even entertain the thought of dealing Fernando Martinez

Syndergaard is a different story, as pitchers with his stuff usually pan out, but you all have the prospects to replace him. Not to mention that Harvey/Wheeler/DeGrom are under control for awhile, so the rotation wouldn't be losing any of the top starters anytime soon. The Mets need a marquee bat. I'd part with Syndergaard in a package to get Tulo, but that's just me. For the right player anyone is expendable.

id part with thor for a stanton type, a guy that hasn't had injury history. but for someone thats been hurt as much as tulo, pass. he's got too good of an arm and with him in that rotation, you could be like the giants.

I guess.  He has always had a decent OBP when healthy/not suspended.  Do they have a potential leadoff hitter now?
Was wondering the same thing. After looking at their depth chart there isn't a clear candidate to lead off. I'd look for them to trade one of their now surplus of OFers for a lead-off/SS type that ideally hits lefty.

I was just being nice since it's the Holidays. San Diego fan base just sucks. Like Miami/Florida fans without the winning.

Raider fans deal with the traffic to see their sorry team at Qualcomm but SD fans don't want to deal,

Are these Padres prospects good?

Flash: nobody is taking bj he's likely going to stay and play for 2 months suck I hope we dump him straight up DFA. Heard Medlen signed with the Royals lol they guaranteed him 2 years 8 million how do they give him that coming off 2 Tommy John surgeries.

JRS how are the Mets gonna get Tulo without giving up one of your pitching prospects you have plenty. That's why I never like Mets fans not even realistic trades.

MLB package won't be purchased next year as Braves aren't going anywhere. I bought it this season and we sucked.

been a while since i could take the nl west seriously...

not my problem if not giving up our best pitching prospect doesn't get him. i rather keep thor than take the chance that this guy plays 90 games a year over the course of his contract.

you guys don't understand the wilpons. if they trade for tulo and he doesn't pan out its 10 years of not spending money. these dudes are ***** like that.

Even when the Chargers are winning, nobody goes to see them. Padres have sucked the past few years but they don't have any fans either. Sad that Dodger fans fill that stadium more than Padres fans

It's pretty obvious why SD doesn't have a strong home fanbase. Can't fault the true fans of the teams for it either

If I lived in SD I'd go to Padres games all the time. Great weather, beautiful ballpark, and baseball :smokin It's also right downtown so before and after the game I'm sure there's a lot of stuff going on. Then again, I really love baseball  and wouldn't mind watching a losing team. I remember when the Nats were terrible from 2007-2010 my boys and I would buy $5 tix and move up as close as we wanted to. I can only imagine how nice that would've been in San Diego.

My dude. :pimp:

@Mark_Schlabach
If was the Braves, I would so slip a "B" before the "J" in the Upton trade paperwork with the Padres #atleastgiveitatry
