tough as hell to have staying power in the majors but if you make it then my my my

Gotta give the tax payers something

I just don't get how they got the game before us. Nats Park opened 5 years before Marlins Park, and at least there's some stuff to do outside the ballpark. There's literally nothing to do right outside of Marlins Park.

Don't discount the fact that no one wants to go to DC.

Little League Strips Chicago Team Of U.S. Title

Little League Baseball has stripped the U.S. championship from the Chicago-based Jackie Robinson West team and has suspended the coach for violating a rule prohibiting the use of players who live outside the geographic area that the team represents, it was announced Wednesday.

Sad to hear. I remember I watched those kids' games. Too talented and too much swag :pimp: I hope kids will overcome sadness. I know they will be successful in the future especially that kid #24. I think his name is Trey Hondres something.

I don't want to play THAT card but has there ever been a Caucasian team that has been stripped of their championship and victories after the fact in these Little League World Series games?

Feel bad for those kids :smh:

Didnt even know that was a rule...considering they're all star teams to begin with

The little league I played for went to back to back LLWS (the 2 following years after my 12 year old year).

They faced pressure from LL to divide our league into 2, and it eventually happened. Little league politics exist lol

If you pulled players from out of your district in the Houston area, you wouldn't make it very far because you would get called out way before ever making it to the LLWS.

This has nothing to do with them being a majority black team

-_-

i was gonna make a thread about this but i'll leave basketball with it's shine and just just post in here. Babe Ruth may have been a bit of a fraud. i'm listening to Boomer and Carton this morning and they're talking about how before 1931 it's been said that balls that bounced over the fence were considered a HR :wow:

i'm sure i'm late with this and it's been mentioned here before but this had me buggin. from wiki : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_run

Before 1931, a ball that bounced over an outfield fence during a major league game was considered a home run. The rule was changed to require the ball to clear the fence on the fly, and balls that reached the seats on a bounce became ground rule doubles in most parks. A carryover of the old rule is that if a player deflects a ball over the outfield fence without it touching the ground, it is a home run. Babe Ruth's 60th home run in 1927 was somewhat controversial, because it landed barely in fair territory in the stands down the right field line. Ruth lost a number of home runs in his career due to the when-last-seen rule. Bill Jenkinson, in The Year Babe Ruth Hit 104 Home Runs, estimates that Ruth lost at least 50 and as many as 78 in his career due to this rule.

they said even some HR's didn't have to land in fair territory, if they looked good and they crowd enjoyed it, the umps called it a HR . with baseball right around the corner my thirst has me looking **** like this up

humor me ...

Didn't read the whole thing, but he also lost homers because the ball has to land in fair territory when clearing the fence back then. Balls that wrapped around the foul pole weren't homers.

1. The hell are you doing listening to Boomer and Carton. Boomer is the absolute worst on the radio.

2. They lost more homers than anything back then. From the late 1800s up until the 20s, players didn't try to hit HRs. If you hit the foul pole or went over it, they didn't count it. They said when Babe played, some of his seasons you could add an extra 20-30 HRs if those rules were in order.

i watch those 2 on tv to fall asleep ( doesn't work  ) , Boomer's not that bad. Carton is a moron ...
