Not sure why this Kris Bryant situation is garnering so much attention. It's a smart business decision and makes complete sense. The only person who should be bitter is Scott Boras, but it's his job.

They're gonna use Bryant as the poster child to change the rule. Kind of like KG being the first high schooler to enter, then 500 the next decade.

Theo has done the same thing for each and every rookie, including Baez and Soler, Russell, etc. No one says a word.

But Bryant has everyone bloggin and writing articles online, and twitter fires, etc. :lol:
 
MLB union is the mightiest in the US so it wouldnt shock me if this rule changed.

But from someone with no cards in this game, the players have to concede at least something once in a blue moon. Even their mediocre get paid well. Nobody will care if Bryant lives up to the hype and gets that 300 million extension down the road.

And that right there is the whole issue.

Theo has already shown, with both Rizzo and Castro, he will get a deal done BEFORE it needs to be, to benefit both the player,and the team. Bryant will be paid long before 2021, which is why this is all such bull ****.

He'll get called up April 20th, a few days after he's "expected" to be. Theo wants him to come up, on the road, not at home. April 17th is a home series, he'll wait til the 20th in Pittsburgh.

If Bryant shows out this year and next, Bryant will have a deal on the table before the end of 2016. All this crap will be a huge waste of time.
 
I wouldn't be so confident in Bryant resigning before '21, besides Jered Weaver, Boras clients usually don't sign contract extensions. I'm already prepared for the day Harper leaves for an insane contract.

Like preseason anything, I don't start really following until Day 1 of the real stuff...Thought Opening Day was consistent with the first few days of April...Gotta wait a whole 'nother week. Damn. :smh:
