i like the idea of batting dudes 9th. still think the dodgers should be doing that so yung joc has someone on base that he can drive in potentially.

I really wish the Mets traded F-Mart instead of Carlos Gomez.

people make the argument that the 9th hitter is a second lead off man who just gets one fewer at bat. however, over the course of a season, that hitter would lose ~162 ABs.

You want your best hitters at the top of the order because they are going to get the most at bats. There's so many logic flaws in the "traditional" baseball lineup, such as it being mandatory to have a fast guy leading off :lol

yeah i like the new school thinking of highest OBP guys at the top of the order. Same reason why I think the Braves are dumb for batting Markakis 4th instead of first.

Not exactly the same situation, but the Astros chose to keep Richard Hidalgo over Bobby Abreu :x:{

Agree somewhat, but to be fair, Gomez looked terrible until the Twins gave up on him and the Brewers rolled the dice.

The stupid thing about this though is that the Twins traded Gomez and Humber for Santana knowing Gomez was a raw talent that would need time. Not only did they field him for the entirety of his raw period, but right when he was exiting that they trade him for J.J. Hardy.... WHO THEY TRADED AWAY LESS THAN A YEAR LATER FOR JIM HOEY!

Sad.

Another Ian Desmond strikeout. At the point where I just look away when he was two strikes on him.

Scherzer is unhittable right now.

Terry Collins would let him go 9.
post #38753 of 78800
McCullers has it all once he develops a changeup
post #38754 of 78800
Yo...Rendon has to lay out for that ball during the middle of a perfect game. C'mon man. Espinosa would've caught that ball.

Really? Damn, didn't know that. I can understand that since Johan wasn't able to do pretty much anything after that game.
post #38757 of 78800

This Astros and Mariners series has been something else :rollin:{

All 3 games have been major blowouts :lol

post #38758 of 78800
Yeah, Terry felt real bad about that game. Said he ended Johan's career basically. Beltran had a single in that game too.

HOU and TB might be the biggest surprise teams of the year. Still can't believe it.

Only the Twins could hit three triples in one inning and come away with one run smh roll.gif
