That's the only thing stopping Hamilton. He doesn't get on base like Rickey did.

Damn Mets gave the Angels the 24th pick when signing K Rod.

Tim Beckham went first overall in 08? mean.gif

That bozo Steve Phillips thinks the White Sox should fire Robin Ventura. Because it's his fault he has two starting pitchers (1 who started poorly) and 1 consistent hitter. It's a flawed team that no one can win with. But hey, blame Ventura. Phillips is an enormous bozo, as everyone already knows.

@SportsNation: Every July 1 from 2011-2035, Bobby Bonilla will collect a $1.1M check from the Mets.

Bonilla hasn't played for the Mets since 2000.

The Bobby Bonilla contract is equally stupid on the Mets' part as it is an ingenious move by Bonilla, the oft overlooked part if it.

Owner thought he was gonna be fine with that contract since he was "profiting" with Bernie Madoff
We all know how that ended roll.gif

Paying someone who isn't on your roster to help you win for 35 years?

Talk about opportunity cost...

You're always better off having the money in your hands.

$1 million is worth more now than it will be 30 years from now.
