We have leagues more talent than the mets, we've had a TERRIBLE year and they've had about as good a year as could be expected from them at the beginning of the year...,. And we're STILL a game ahead ..... Unless none of our hitters regain form or get hurt again we are pretty solid favorites.

Did I mention that Zimmerman and fister have been below expectations for no particular reason meaning that it's very possible they rebound

Also strasburg is about to be back

And Bryce is still doing a decent Barry bonds impersonation ...
Sorry for not bending over like Kermit to......the mets :/
It's only depressing if you bought into the preseason predictions for this team. 83-79 isn't a depressing record unless you believed those preseason predictions. Rendon will probably pick it up and be solid, but Werth and Zimmerman haven't given any indication even when healthy that they are werth a damn. Cespedes > Werth. Duda >Zimmerman at this point in their respective careers. Talent doesn't always win games. You're holding onto a bunch of ifs while realistically most of them will never come to fruition. Our starters aren't as good as last year. The bullpen is much worse. They've somehow managed to be a Top 5 run scoring offense but I don't see that continuing on for the rest of the year. Being a game ahead of a team with pitching like the Mets doesn't mean ****. Bryce hasn't been a Barry Bonds impersonator since May/early June. Strasburg hasn't been consistent all yaer. Zimmermann and Fister are regressing to their norms. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I will be. With Matt WIlliams at the helm, this team is destined to lose. Maybe next year.

Last week I sounded like madj and I'm two weeks I'll probsbly sound that way again laugh.gif both of our teams are ******* headaches. I dot think either of us run away with the division and it comes down to the final series of the season.

FanGraphs and their algos, meh. Don't really buy the Nats having an 80% chance to make the playoffs, really feel like it's 60-40, or even 55-45 between them and the Mets.

Another case of the inflamed ERA sending a pitcher to the DL.

Overhyping of the Nats have been confusing since January. At least from the media/baseball fan perspective

Had to. Was facing 4 starters by my opponent, needed to take the risk, he was my only guy going. Couldn't pick anyone up since I used up my allotment of weekly wire pickups.

Currently down by 10, if he just gave me a quality start I could've stolen the series. 3 of his 4 starters are gonna get an L mean.gif

Literally the same reason I started Shark too mean.gif. Luckily I had picked up Dickey last week and he had a great outing today.

Buttttt I'm not mad about it one bit outside of fantasy smokin.gif Yankees offense teeing off.

Theoretically I could win if Rosenthal gets a save, Josh Reddick homers and drives in 3 runs laugh.gif

I think Correa will be better than Harper. He'll be right behind Trout at the end of next season. Kid is just unfair mean.gifmean.gifmean.gif

..............you do realize Bryce Harper is currently having one of the greatest non steroid seasons ever right? I love Correa but there's no way you can he'll be better than Harper by the end of the season when Harper is Bonds lite

Giants should've had that game smh. Still got a long ways to go but it's so frustrating being this close to overtaking the Dodgers and not getting it done. Awesome showing by Leake...very excited to see what he can do paired with Bum and Heston the rest of the way and Buster had a web gem today once again solidifying his spot as 2 in the MVP race.
