i did a piece on cano. his contact% is down by 5%. his contact% on pitches down and in is down around 10% from last year. his zone contact% is down 5%. his groundball rates are up. his walks are down 5%, k's up 5%. going the opposite way about 5-7% less than he usually does. going up the middle more. my theory is either his bat speed is declining, he's getting old and losing strength (incapable of sitting back and driving the ball), or he has something going on with his eyes because he clearly isn't seeing the ball well. i wouldnt want him on my team with these issues in year 2 of a 10 year deal.

After being in a bit of a slump past few games dude came around for the last 2 with clutch Home Runs

Me neither. I don't want Cano on our team.

I was really surprised to see his terrible numbers. I expect to see him putting up better numbers than last season. I thought acquiring Cruz would be good for Cano so Cruz takes pressure off Cano. Roberto Alomar put up better numbers when he was Cano's age.

what really worries me is the contact numbers and the BB and K%. one thing if a guy is in a slump, but he's obviously just not seeing the ball well at all.

Damn, if those numbers and analytics are real. I thought Cano would have a solid 5 years, 6 was the max. He's a thick guy and in his early 30s so I was hoping the Yankees wouldn't over pay him. I didn't think he would stay in Seattle more than 3-4 years.

he had a god awful slump in 2008 but a bad slump at that age vs today is a different story. maybe he recovers but i dont think hell ever be an elite 2nd baseman again.

When clicking on that video, I was ready to make a joke about the painting sucking, but it's pretty sick  :pimp:

Reid Ryan just cited millennials as a reason for the changes the Astros are making to the OF area.

Dude must be having conversations with Vince McMahon.

Surprised/pleased to see Rendon back.  Thought they'd give him a little more time but I guess the fact that he played both games during the doubleheader was enough.
