speaking of the Reds did anyone mention Carlos Ruiz's mental error last night blocking the plate and tagging DeSclafani with the bags juiced instead of just getting the force out? he's too much of a veteran to be making that mistake. it's a dumb rule, the whole blocking thing, but in that instant, the ball beat the runner by a few steps and all he had to do was drag a foot and get the force out.

I'd assume its the front foot already being down (which you can't really see) with the position of his arms/shoulders. 

His arm is really late.

He was drafted in the 31st round out of HS, so it isn't exactly like he came out of nowhere

True but he jumped like 70 spots on some mock draft rankings. It's weird since he crushed SEC pitching but Idk. Honestly haven't seen enough of him.
