The Astros radio broadcast just said Elias spent 30 hours on a raft leaving Cuba.

For the sake of humanity, that's ridiculous.

i like the idea of batting dudes 9th. still think the dodgers should be doing that so yung joc has someone on base that he can drive in potentially.

Honey Badger.

people make the argument that the 9th hitter is a second lead off man who just gets one fewer at bat. however, over the course of a season, that hitter would lose ~162 ABs.

You want your best hitters at the top of the order because they are going to get the most at bats. There's so many logic flaws in the "traditional" baseball lineup, such as it being mandatory to have a fast guy leading off

yeah i like the new school thinking of highest OBP guys at the top of the order. Same reason why I think the Braves are dumb for batting Markakis 4th instead of first.

Agree somewhat, but to be fair, Gomez looked terrible until the Twins gave up on him and the Brewers rolled the dice.

The stupid thing about this though is that the Twins traded Gomez and Humber for Santana knowing Gomez was a raw talent that would need time. Not only did they field him for the entirety of his raw period, but right when he was exiting that they trade him for J.J. Hardy.... WHO THEY TRADED AWAY LESS THAN A YEAR LATER FOR JIM HOEY!

Sad.

Another Ian Desmond strikeout. At the point where I just look away when he was two strikes on him.
