I still like the Reds to win the division, any word on Votto's extension?

Tough break for Madson. He was due for a monster season on that one-year contract. Chapman could be lethal as a closer, but he needs to take the Verlander approach and dial down the heat for control/pitch accuracy. Do you Reds fans really think Dusty will give Aroldis the chance from Opening Day to close? I would think Marshall is another option that Dusty might prefer based on trust and experience. Weren't you guys considering the possibility of experimenting with Chapman as a starter as well? Let's see how Bard and Sale pan out making the transition. Supposedly Cherington and Bobby V. are already at odds over Bard's best place with the club. Cherington wants him as a starter and Valentine wants him in the pen. Also disagreeing over Lavarnway and Iglesias.

I still feel it's Cincy's division to lose if Latos and Cueto can hold up the front-end of the rotation. St. Louis and Milwaukee are still legitimate threats though especially with Braun's suspension overturned and Madson's unfortunate TJ injury/surgery.

I'll post my final division standings/predictions before the Oakland/Seattle opener.

Atlanta fans should be very concerned over their offensive output. Heyward should redeem himself this year but it doesn't help that Chipper is dwindling away with injuries. Lots of great potential with Delgado, Minor, and Teheran.

I'm not worried at all except for SS. Chipper is not a big deal for this team its not like we rely our season on solely him.  Braves need Prado and Heyward to have good years and Uggla to raise his AVG. The starting rotation can match the Phillies and the Braves have best bullpen in majors)

1. Michael Bourn (1st full year w/ braves so 50-60 plus steals is almost guaranteed and way better hitter/defense than last year Nate McLouth)
2. Martin Prado (Last year wasn't healthy capable of .300 15 75 rbi)
3. Chipper Jones (? good for 15 HR)
4. Brian McCann (All star)
5. Dan Uggla (35 HR all he needs is to hit better than .250 last year he hit .233)
6. Freddie Freeman (good for .285 25 80 rbi solid Defense)
7. Jason Heyward (??? He needs to hit better than .227 and revert back to rookie season)
8. Tyler Pastornicky (Garbage all around smiley: indifferent)

He's about done, Think he should hang it up before this season, not after.

After 150 at bats, Brett Lawrie is probably the most popular blue jays since Robbie Alomar, he single handedly made all of Toronto care about baseball, even the bluejays were surprised how mad people got when they didn't get Darvish. smiley: laugh

I don't see Aroldis in the closer's role. He's been really, really good so far as a starter this spring, and Homer has struggle big time. I see Chapman as the fifth starter, Homer to the pen, and Marshall closing with Ondrusek, Masset, and Bray setting up.

Read something that said Homer won't be good out of the pen because he takes a while to warm up. It looks like Marshall will be the closer too.
