Brutal loss for the Astros.
Lose 4-3. Had runners at first and third with no outs in the 9th and couldn't score
After the season, Jackie Robinson was traded by the Dodgers to the arch-rival New York Giants for **** Littlefield and $35,000 cash (equal to $303,605 today). The trade, however, was never completed; unbeknownst to the Dodgers, Robinson had already agreed with the president of Chock full o'Nuts to quit baseball and become an executive with the company
Harold Reynolds just said the Mets should move Uribe to SS.
The Cards-Cubs rivalry is more one sided than the Yankees-Red Sox one pre 2004 lol. It would have been great if the 03 Cubs team played that 04 Cards team though (imho the best Cardinals team in the last 20 years even though they lost in the WS. That line up with Edgar Renteria, Rolen , Edmonds , Pujols, Larry Walker was nuts. The Pujols, Rolen, Renteria , Edmonds, Molina defense was top notch too)
Cubs jumped Giants in the WC so quickly
Cubs/Cards in NLDS would behavent played each other in postseason since 1886 (St Louis Browns vs Chicago White Stockings)
Shame that the Yankees-Red Sox ALCS in 2004 overshadowed the NLCS. NLCS that year was just unbelievable.

I'm glad someone else remembered that series! That NLCS had Bagwell, Beltran, Berkman, Biggio, Oswalt, Andy, Rocket, Kent, Rolen, Walker, Pujols, Carp, Edmonds. That's some major HOFers talent right there. The Killer B's vs the Cards trinity was worth the price of admission in itself. It was a shame that the bloody sock's game threw the NLCS to the side in most people's mind. I remembered watching that bottom of the 6th inning with 2 outs with Rocket going against Prime Pujols with El Machine tying it. That was as big of a showdown as you can get in baseball.
