Take the higher amount per year now.. Recoup later. Unlike basketball, you can reasonably expect to make good money age 35+
I think for it to make a HUGE difference the Mariners would have to be at 6-7mil more per year.. Not 3-4mil less a year, but more years.

In sports money talks and sometimes going for the money isn't always the best for a career but it is for personal financial stability. Look at Pujols with Angels smh I would have never thought to see Pujols struggle like he has with his stats..
The Fister trade, I think DD just had his eye set on one player and settled.
IDK what the hell the Rockies are trying to do and the Brewers have never really been the smartest when it comes to assessing young talent

Cano's dad was irked by Cashman's comments, saying Cano "loved" money. Jose asked, "Who doesn't love money?"
I love Robbie and I'll always have love for Robbie but if he goes, he goes. No hard feelings for getting his years/money. But, he shot himself in the foot from the beginning of the year with these negotiations and his hypocrisy. God bless him if Seattle gives him 10 years.

Furcal signs with mia...such a sparkplug when healthy. I love watching him play. During his tenure with LA, he was the ultimate catalyst. The offense seems to go as he goes. One of my fav players of this era. Good luck to him.....glad he got a chip.
