You can't buy greatness....

LETS GO CARDS!!!!! :smokin

 thanks for the laugh. Really needed it.

Can't build a farm system overnight. Glad where we are and glad where we are headed. Congrats to the Cards.

This. After the debacle that was the frank McCourt ownership era, getting this far in year one was nice. Obviously game 6 was tough to watch, but in Kasten we trust. Putting the proper resources back into scouting, making smart FA decisions (and being able to afford FAs) and no longer needing to give away prospects and draft picks...the future is bright.

Dodgers had a great year given where they seemed to be heading in those dark days of the season and transitioning lightning fast from the McCourt ownership period.

Happy to see them become World Series threats.

Congrats cards!!! Puig is the biggest douche in baseball! :D

feels good man, feels good. :D :D :D :D

When the going gets tuff Prince Fielder folds. The Tigers really should have rested Miguel Cabrera down the stretch its clear he hasn't been himself. I fully expect Boston to take an early lead today and win in a close game. They lost the series when they failed to go up 2-0.

man i feel like uncle rico from napolean.... if only the giants were in the playoffs.... we could have been world champs again...

Like two-thirds of the Cardinals' playoff roster is making six figures this season.

Kind of a deceiving payroll.

VERY deceiving

$23-$25 Million of that was on Carpenter, Motte and Furcal, none of which played a single game this season.

Cards payroll for next year will be in the $100 - $105 range If we re-sign Beltran, if not, We will be somewhere between $90-$100.

The irony of this statement. You addressed a comment that had nothing to do with you, but I am supposed to fall back and move on. It's no secret that I can't stand you; yet you antagonize and my response is ridiculed. If we haven't made it abundantly clear before, let's clear the air now. Stay clear of addressing anything I say unless I violate a rule and you have to do your due diligence as an Administrator of this site.

Moving on...

Hats off to the Dodgers fans of this board, you guys have a great squad and are going to do plenty of damage going forward. I still don't know how to feel about all of this Giants fan support even though I know it's motivated for their deep hate of the Dodgers. Still feels dirty since the Cards collapsed against them last year in the NLCS.

Dumb *** Astros bid $55 million with Singleton having such a year this season. Dopes
Astros just need talent. Singleton/Abreu as the 1b/DH combo isn't that dumb.

You have a stud kid who'll be at first for 10-15 years...I don't see the point in spending that kind of money for a lesser, older player whose defense isn't that great and bat isn't worth as much you know? Astro's definitely need talent but place that money in the upper parts of the draft.

Congrats to the Cards :pimp:

Congrats to the Dodgers too. A month into the year, not even the biggest fan could have seen a NLCS birth.

Was hoping for a game 7, but good stuff from the Cards. A tremendous ballclub. I really like Matheny.

Almost any negative thing I say about the Cards is simply out of jealousy. I would love for the Pirates to get even close to that kind of sustained excellence

Will be pulling for them against Boston, if Det makes it then I'm neutral (like StL team better but love Jimmy Leyland)

Either way congrats to the fans on here. FB, all kinds of championships between MLB and the NHL
