WBC isn't what it could be since so many players are afraid of getting hurt but it isn't a gimmick. USA just isn't that good.

How? It was an olympic sport and then dropped. Just because USA doesn't take it seriously doesn't mean it's a ploy. The merchandise isn't overly priced. Tickets last time weren't too much, I don't know what they are this year. I like the WBC, USA just doesn't take is serious because they don't have their best players out there while other countries do.

Joe Torre is benching Giancarlo Stanton tonight in favor of starting Shane Victorino and Ben Zobrist since they haven't played yet.
