Well, the shift doesn't work against Victor Martinez. That's for sure. He just sliced one down the left field line like a good hitter should.

That's the point I'm trying to make.

There's something logically incorrect to shift on a player and throw him outside. A good hitter will go the other way. The defense is basically giving you a free base runner if you can just poke the ball oppo.

The more teams continue to shift, the more hitters will start taking advantage of it.

Yes you would expect major league hitters to do that but most have been pullin the ball for so long trying to hit oppo is pretty tough. Just like someone mentioned with McCann it's not working out well for him. Martinez I don't think has been an exclusive pull hitter like McCann or agon so he can adjust w/o much issue unlike McCann. If the shift can work with runners on in the late innings than why would you not do it?

V-Mart is a professional hitter. Dude has a good at bat every plate appearance.

Congrats to Josh!

That feeling you get when the other team throws a no hitter at your home stadium :smh:

George Springer is eating against the Mariners.

Doug Fister has been solid for the Nats since he got shelled in his first start.

That thing encarnacion does when running the bases after hitting a home run is the dumbest thing ever
