You gotta think Darvish will get one eventually. These last two have heartbreaking. Would've been interesting had the no hitter held up...am I the only one watching MLB Tonight? Mitch and Harold are great tv. MLB network is easily the best sports network imo.

Papi broke up Darvish's 1 hitter in the 9th.

Such a joke that was ruled an error.

"In baseball statistics, an error is the act, in the judgment of the official scorer, of a fielder misplaying a ball in a manner that allows a batter or baserunner to advance one or more bases, when such an advance would have been prevented given ordinary effort by the fielder."

If you don't think that was an error, you are ******ed

jewbacca jewbacca is right though, that kind of play is called a base hit all the time

Peep the vids in the link as example

It isnt as cut and dry some would think *shrugs*

It would have, but under rule that is clearly an error.
Its the same thing as no pass interference being called at the end of football games

If a ground ball goes through a fielder's legs or a fly ball falls untouched and, in the scorer's judgment, the fielder could have handled the ball with ordinary effort, the official scorer shall charge such fielder with an error.

The official scorer shall not score mental mistakes or misjudgments as errors unless a specific rule prescribes otherwise

hey to me it was an error But Im just sayin' its not that black and white

yeah i know i just enjoy the debate

The official scorer shall charge an error to a fielder who causes another fielder to misplay a ball—

Should that play be an error? Yes

Is that play ever called an error, besides tonight? No

I only have a problem with it because it is never, ever, called that way.

When you see a ball fall between OF'ers and IF'ers like that, it is never called an error, period.

For the dude saying you're a moron for not thinking that's an error

. Watch some more baseball and see how that's usually called.

Too make things even worse, they've gave the error to Rios and not the second baseman

so if a player is Interfered on the final play of a football game and the ref throws the flag, would you be saying the same thing? Just because the scorers never rule it that way doesn't mean that it should remain like that.

That play is called a hit in the first inning. It should be a hit in the 3rd, 9th and in a no hitter.

If they want to consistently call it an error, fine, but you don't start making that change during a no hitter.

They say that play is never ruled an error which I can agree with as far as what I've seen. Baseball media folks were flipping out  hate I missed Harold Reynolds rant

Are you guys serious, the official scorer just make **** up as they go along.

If a no hitter is going it will be called an error.

The official scorers have never been consistent and never will be.
