I don't believe the Red Sox have the patience to sit on their hands and develop their team without pursuing the best bat heading into free agency. Not when the pressure is there to compete with New York every year, and now the emergence of the Orioles.

Since when r u an O's fan? LOL. Never the less, i aint even mad. Had casual day at work yesterday, so I rocked the Eddie Murray throwback. Wearing Cal today. Such a good feeling. Made waking up 3x since midnight to deal w/ a crying baby no big deal. I dont care what happens from here on out. This has been a hell of a season. All the pressure on the world on the Yanks. O's can jus go out there and play relaxed. Anyways, lets get it!!!
I've been an O's fan my whole life. Rocked a tank from 1993 today. It's not like we talk about baseball on NT all that much. Or that we've had anything to talk about over the last 15 years. Damn near only good thing Angelos has done in that time is bring in Buck.

yea i can see that too but, the sox are pretty good developing their hitters from the farm system (dusty, jacoby, and i wanna add reddick here too) i know they are playing in the "must win now" division but i wouldn't mind them rebuilding and try winning with a good farm system group like the rays/orioles. its sucks too that next year free agent pool is :x

Francona will manage the Indians, says Rosenthal.

Bless his heart.

Edit: Official announcement from the team, too.

Remember when everyone thought Adrian would hit 40 in Boston? Yeah. Josh would be smart to stay away from New York, LA and Boston.

IMO I cannot agree with anyone that it was a correct call. The umpire is supposed to call the infield rule while the ball is still a ways away from being caught. Not when it's almost about to get caught. The rule is supposed to prevent infielders/outfields from intentionally dropping pop ups to try and turn a double play out of it. It was the complete wrong call. Although technically you can call an infield fly rule anywhere, it needs to be called early. Not towards the very end of the play. The umps were wrong and this is just going to bring up the old debate that in the playoffs, instant replay should be brought in for ANY questionable call. I feel for Braves fans and especially for Chipper. That would have left bases loaded and one out with McCann coming up as a pinch hitter down by 3 runs. Congrats to the Cardinals though, they shut down the Braves outside of that situation.

I am a fan of this one game playoff. It creates a bigger incentive to win the division. Maybe not this year since MLB approved the second wild card team after the schedule was approved so they couldn't change the postseason schedule but I think it was still the right call. TBH, if you're the better team, you should win regardless. HFA isn't that important. If the Yankees and Nationals are truly better teams, they'll win one or two in Baltimore or St. Louis.

I thought you'd be more excited bud. I think he'll be in the ear of management to increase payroll and bit and make moves for the future. You guys need arms desperately in the farm.

Bad calls will always be a part of the game as long as there's the human element. #TEAMROBOTS

Parker pitched great, unfortunately when you're going up against Verlander you'll find that great isn't enough most of the time. Hopefully we can take Game 2.

He's just a manager. It's a nice name to get, but unless there are drastic roster changes, it doesn't really matter to me if it's Acta, Francona, Sizemore's figurative corpse, or the guy who played Lou Brown's literal corpse.

Maybe something as simple as a big-name manager will get the organizational ball rolling, though.

I just need to see Perez get traded for Peter Bourjos (such a fair and logical trade), and Choo and Cabrera traded in separate deals for pitching (such a logical idea).

I still :smh: every time I see Chapman's triple digits from the left side. Not sure he has the composure or third pitch to be an elite starter, but they need to give him a go next season just to see if they can maximize on their investment. Buster is still that dude, though. Hoping he gets the MVP.

Friday was incredible. Go O's :pimp:

I still dont understand why the better teams have to start on the road.

Some garbage about traveling but I highly doubt it sticks. It's ridiculous

Stupidest **** I've seen in a while.Yes I'm bitter. :smh:

I would be too if I was an A's fan. You played the whole season and came out with the better record so why does your team start off on the road. Now they are down 0-2 where is the advantage there?

Last time, MLB approved the second Wild Card team after the schedule was approved. They couldn't change the schedule and they didn't want to create more travel days to push the World Series into November. So they did it this way, 2-3 instead of 2-2-1.

There's the old Gio

Yea, really not a good year if youre the higher seed since you gotta start on the road (for this yr at least)

Josh is not going to cut it in any big city, in fact, it's best for him that he stays in Texas where that organization already knows how to cater to all his needs. Former recovered junkie that found Jesus. This dude is soft, feel good story aside.

Anyway, that short porch in LF at Fenway is a gift and a curse. I hope Adrian rediscovers his swing that he had prior to going to the Red Sox. He wasn't a pull hitter in PetCo, but somehow became one or at least adjusted his swing to take advantage of that short porch.

What about Josh Hamilton to the Rockies?

They have a heavy faith-based locker room and I think he'd be a good fit there.

^I highly doubt Hamilton goes to a team that doesnt have a huge market like LA or Boston. They are going to throw a ton of money at him.

I don't think the huge market suits him. He needs a strong support system around him, and imagine the press he'll get in Boston or LA if he goes through a lengthy slump, or gets caught in a compromising photo (like what happened before)? He'll get eaten up. The clubhouse culture in Colorado should suit him, IMO.
