This man deserves a special nod just for the role he gave, regardless of the movie content itself.

Hanks during that era was unstoppable.

Watched Shawshank this weekend, excellent as advertised.  Reminded me very much of The Green Mile, mostly because it was written by the same man.

Very good, never had a doubt it would be, just never sat down to watch it is all.

Schindlers List..........very, very, very difficult movie to watch.  Ugh.

I asked my wife, for all the actors and what not doin this film, seriously, how hard must that have been, during breaks and stuff.  How much pain that movie must have caused those actors.  I can not even imagine.  It was extremely well done, Steven, Liam, Ralph, Ben all did incredible jobs, and the final scene with the actors with the people they portrayed, WOW.
BCR Rumor Mill: "Bull Durham" sequel inching closer to production?
Here's one to place firmly in the "rumor mill" category, and given the history of false starts here it's good to take this one with a big tablet of sale -- but hey, it's been a while since we've heard any news on this project.

A BCR source reports that Thom Mount's efforts to bring a Bull Durham sequel to life are moving forward, with a number of the original film's stars -- including its three leads -- reportedly signed on to be a part of the movie's sequel.

According to the report, funding is in place for the film with plans to film at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park, along with a small number of scenes at the historic DAP.

Mount was spotted in town this week, reportedly meeting with local leaders in preparation for a broader ramp-up on the filming.

Lots of slips happen in Hollywood along the way to shooting a film -- much less releasing it. Mount himself, for instance, was initially closely-attached to "Main Street," which filmed in Durham last spring, having brought screenwriter Horton Foote to town to inspire the film's script. By the time of filming, though, Mount was no longer the "producer of record" for the film, "Main Street" (and onetime "Bull Durham") publicist David Linck hesitantly noted on our "Shooting the Bull" radio show back in April 2009.

Assuming that a Bull Durham sequel really is underway, there's no more word on what plotlines might follow the film. Though as a baseball fan first and a "Bull Durham" fan second, we here at BCR are more than partial to ESPN writer Jim Caple's Manny Ramirez-in-the-minors take on a sequel-spoof last year

From March of 2010 is best I could find.  And I saw this weekend that Costner is going to be in the new Superman, but not sure what role yet.  So I don't know when he would plan on doing this sequel.  What the hell would he be doing anyways?  Manager?  Meat is too damn old to still be pitching, this would be a tough @#$ movie to try and pull off.

He would finally make it to "The Show" as a manager.  As for "Superman" I can see him show his range of acting and play Perry White.  Or maybe a younger Jor-el.

Shawshank Redemption is one of the most overrated movie ever, but I still like it. I'm just not on the bandwagon of people that hail it as an all-time great.

The Green Mile, however... EXCELLENT movie.

EXCELLENT.

City of God was like that for me.  I liked the movie, thought it was really good, but I saw some people sayin it changed their life, and it's close to top 25 all time and all that on IMDB's list, and I just don't see it.

Very hard judging movie ratings etc etc.  People's tastes are so all over the place.

I read "Murderball" is the top rated sports movie of all time.  What the hell is that movie about?

I have never heard of this story, but glad you put it in here.  Rucker park, with all the New Yorkers on this board, surprised this isn't brought up more.  At the end, there's that book he was reading, I wanna look that up and see how much of it was legit.

I'm lookin at Wiki, but I don't see the name of the book in here, I might have to check the movie again tonight to find it.

Great find Ska.
