Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

That looks ugly, then again Electro has never looked great in my mind.

I still like the villain though, we'll see.

I liked Dafoe as Osborn, just not GG, if that makes any sense. It's like how I like Andrew Garfield much better as Peter Parker.
Or Christian Bale as Bruce but not Batman
Didn't like him as either and it wasn't cuz of Bale. Writing and directing made no effort to tell an in depth story about Bruce and Bats was just action side show.

Anyone going to see the golden fists or whatever the new Russell Crowe project is? The one with Tarantino producing or having his name attached to it.

I got some copies of a bunch of stuff I haven't had time to get to. Looper, Savages, The Campaign, The Watch, Expendables 2, and Total Recall. I doubt I'll watch all of them any time soon now that the NBA is back, but I'll try to work thru em. (sidenote, didn't realize how helpful the lockout was last year getting in movies and shows, it's impossible these days. :smh: )

Hardball

SpaceJam

The Blindside

Friday Night Lights

Waterboy

LongestYard

Some of my favorites I still enjoy to watch

Finally started watchin the Dollars trilogy that I DVR'd.
15 minutes into A Fi****l of Dollars and I'm hyped. I mean instantly I'm like...uh...Yojimbo anyone?
But Clint's stare is immortal and could give a **** less about copying storylines.

I get how old man Eastwood thought talking to an empty chair would be g'd up now.

Some times I don't get where they're trying to go with Dexter's character. Throughout the series they've made it so his main focus is killing ppl. That's his fix and yes he's banged plenty chicks along the way either to get out of a situation, continue a charade, or connect with another murderer but dude never is portrayed as needing yambs. This ep was very good but him not killing ol girl and opting to bang her seemed weird. Seems he just wants to continue to complicate his life and he from his complaints he has not been killing on his regular basis since Deb found out.

I mean it's great he's getting it in but I'm not seeing the motive. Is this suppose to signify Dex being more human by acting on feelings or lust? Cuz they tend to throw that out the window with his cold blooded psychopathic tendencies. From his actions to his thoughts this ep not much was hinting towards this twist, other than the pauses and stare downs when he was in scenes with the chick.

Maybe he's replacing Lumen. Or this will make Deb jealous and lead to something. He seemed intrigued by her talking about her life with the other dude, maybe he takes his place. You saw the preview, he said he'd take care of him (Isaac) and she said "like you took care of me?". She obviously knows what he is, she even put the knife up to him. Some sort of...... "Game" between them, Basic Instintish maybe.

I finally got around to seein Savages last night. Sat for almost 2 hours, liked pretty much the whole movie, was sittin there wonderin, why everybody bag on this movie???? Everyone said this movie sucked, but this isn't bad......what the hell, why nobody like this movie?????

Then the ending happened.

Oh, that's why.

What kind of chicken **** way was that for Stone to end a film? Was he serious with that? I watched some sort of extended cut, was that my mistake, is there only one ending in the theatrical version?

**** man, movie had me feelin good for the most part, sure there were some things that coulda been better, but overall it was solid. Then he pulls that, and I felt cheated. :smh:

I was at 7.5, you mighta talked me into an 8, but after the ending it's a 7.

How bad was the ending compared to The Grey? Don't think I can sit through a movie like that again with it ending in such a ****** way.

Homeland.

*nods head*

That shootout in the shop though, was not expecting that.

I enjoyed the latest Dexter episode but like Zik said he's making his life unnecessarily complicated.

Could've slept with Hannah first then killed her. Got this broad holding a knife to his neck in the next episode.

The Man With the Iron Fists needed more fight scenes. At least with RZA. He was only in one, that I can remember :smh: Overall, it was ridiculous. Just, it's what you'd expect from RZA  Action was pretty good, had a lot of throw backs to the old martial arts movies. Story was put on the backburner pretty quickly. But, it was a fun movie with some ridiculous action, in a good way. Dont expect anything spectacular.

I'd recommend it for a Wednesday night movie if you've got nothing else going on.

Seeking a Friend for the End of the World is pretty worthless.

It's got all the ingredients, spread so thin and bland and style-less. You can tell it wants to be something, but every character, background decision and idea is so muted and barely there and obvious and so disconnected from one scene to the next...and cheap...It made me have a new respect for Jack and Jill at least having a pulse. The first 10 minutes are good, I guess. There's moments when you see interesting characters...don't worry they'll be gone immediately and you'll be stuck with these two chemistry-less vegetables.

It's Terry Schiavo the movie.

Watch Melancholia, do not watch this. It's a 5-hour hour and a half movie, if you know what I mean. All it made me wanna do is watch Shaun of the Dead and appreciate the incredibly well done world-building and storytelling.

6/10 for the minutes the great supporting actors actually worked in this movie...

How do you waste Britta and Mrs. Coach? :smh:

Spoiler, nobody read if you don't want to know the end, this is for JRS.......

He gives you the ending scene, then the female says, "well, at least that's how I remember it in my head........" and then he rewinds everything that just happened and gives a different ending altogether. Total ******g cop out. Miss me with that duel ending garbage. One thing to have alt ending on the DVD, not have them both within the actual film. :smh:

Blake lively is a terrible actress. Couldn't even stand the voice actors

And yeah Oliver is mostly washed up. Shame

So with all the dexter hype I'm trying to finally finish last season. So damn boring.

It will pay off. Think of it as a solid reason to get to this year. You'll see.
