Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Usually I'm all in for blood, guts, and violence in movies.... but this new Universal Soldier just took it way too far

Taken 2 was awful..wasn't really expecting anything that great though.

I am watching skyfall now, have not seen any bond movies but I figure these with Daniel Craig should be pretty cool.

Skyfall was probably the worst ...

Looper was great. But from what I saw from the trailer ... I was not expecting the movie to have that kind of plot

The main thing that I was disappointed about is that they didn't show what the kid grew up to be or what he would have grew up to be i.e. rainman.

Hmmm, the producers for Silence of the Lambs wanted Robert Duvalle & Demme wanted Hopkins in the strength of his performance as the Dr on Elephant Man. He thought he would be perfect taking a Dr in the opposite direction. Demme had to actually fight to get Hopkins cast...

mad max 2 was always the best out of the 3. IMO

I always thought I've seen Mad Max 1, but it's on AMC right now, and I ain't never seen this.

This dude had a family and used to be regular people??

This ain't Mad Max, this is Straw Dogs mixed with The Hills Have Eyes. Birth of a badass. I didn't know.

I saw the preview for it on Looper, wtf. And why did Dolph look like a Street Fighter character

And WHO THE HELL approved Premium Rush?

yea man its pretty cool though to see how he evolves into mad max.

they took some flashback of part 1 out of part 3 which would have made part 3 much more better and to really tell how tormented he still was..

they did is family so wrong though:x

Idk if it was because I was tired and ready for bed or what but I wasn't feeling Act of Valor at all. That will probably the only time I ever watch it....Battle LA and Black Swan are next.

^^^ The OG Mad Max may actually be my favorite of them all. You can tell it was super low budget, but it somehow works for the film. It's like the minimalism adds to the grittiness, which is kind of the core of the movie. The rawness of it is refreshing in a way.

Has anybody checked out this show Vikings on the History channel? Dope so far :smokin My dude Gabriel Byrne stars in it. 1st season just started, they're only one ep in. I only caught on to it cuz I thought it was a commercial for Game of Thrones.

I'm watching it now (on demand).

)  i'm thinking of cancelling my subscription to hulu..

unless you guys know of any good series on there, that aren't on netflix.

Watched Flight last night...I really enjoyed it.

I know it's from the same director as Castaway, but who do you think was better in their respective roles...Denzel Washington or Tom Hanks?

this :smh:

Did Saw steal from Mad Max? :nerd:
Cuz the very ending was basically a 5-minute version of Saw...

Road Warrior was on after it....Son.

I thought people hyped it up, cuz they were just ODin on campy nostalgia. But Mad Max 2 is the rare awesome cable classic from when you were a kid, that still turns out to be pretty awesome today. I love this movie. Mad Max is that dude. The pace, the mood, the characters, the action, the moments. Everything is on point for what it is and so damn particular and memorable.

Little babboon boomerang kid...Mohawk chaps...Gimp Bane...Go cart copter dude. :smokin

I mean it's the regular, man with no name trips into town and helps the little people out, but it's got it's own style, it's own rules, it's own world.
And the movie is just ruthless and brutal and crude for the hell of it. It's just a handmade oddity. Like a biker gang decided to make a movie.
And Mel killed it. POS human being, awesome action lead.

Man...that's a damn good movie, still...better than Commando.

I was about to say eff it to the game and watch Thunderdome...but of course, after Mad Max 1 & 2, they put on Catwoman.

On Season 3 of The Shield, really liking it. The pacing/plot lines remind me a lot of Breaking Bad, in that it's just characters getting out of jams they get themselves into over and over, but always getting tenser.

Son. :smh: Like...I hated that ***** Mara to the death.
Then they made you 180 on that chick just in time... |I

Just saw The Prestige for the first time great movie. Christopher Nolan:pimp:
Like...I think The Dark Knight is his most entertaining and rewatchable movie.
Inception is his most fascinating and creative and intellectually stimulating movie.

But The Prestige is his best, to me at least.

the last few episodes were raw as hell.. vic might just be the grimiest tv character ever.

are there any theories as to what happened to him?

The prestige is his most complete movie by far. The flow of the dark knight trips up in the 2nd half.

Inception was extremely covoluted and I didn't like that it basically turned into a summer action movie. It's beautiful and just deep enough to still be very good. Plus well acted. I wanted a psycological thriller and I got an action movie. So that's kind of on me for having those expectations.

The 2nd time I watched it I thought the prestige was basically perfect. Its his most complete and least flawed film
