Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Now I understand what "well allow bladdity blah" means.

What does "oh I'm sorry bladdity blah" mean?
If you understand "well allow..", then you should understand "Oh I'm sorry..." since they're from the same quote in the same movie, Pulp Fiction.
Friendship, The Shawshank Redemption, And A Strange Case Of Cinematic Stubbornness

It is 2013, and I still haven’t seen The Shawshank Redemption. It feels foolish now. An irrational, childish bullheadedness. It’s embarrassing. When I tell people nowadays, they look at me like I told them I that I like to expose myself in front of nuns — disgust, with a touch of bafflement. And yet… I still haven’t seen it. Watching it now feels like it would be caving in, capitulating, almost as silly as not  watching it all these years. I know, OK? I know. There’s no logic or reason to this. It is almost certainly a wonderful film that I would doubtless appreciate. But this refusal to bend, to break, to overcome my own obstinacy has become a part of me now, a strange and enduring piece of me that I for some odd reason simply cannot change. This is made all the more ridiculous given who I am… someone who loves — honestly and truly loves  — movies. Yet this peculiar hobgoblin, thisparticularly foolish consistency, refuses to leave me.
We all have these foibles, I suspect. My wife has never seen “Firefly,” despite my insistence that she’d love it (she totally would, you guys). We started watching it once together, three years ago. She fell asleep, and that was the end of it. I’m sure many of you are scoffing and harrumphing and judging, and that’s fine. But I’m willing to bet that each and every one of you has something like this, some version of The Shawshank Redemption  that has been with you for so long, regardless of thought or logic or reason
Article about never having seen Shawshank, then continuing to refuse to watch it. Kind of interesting...

Sometimes I wished I cared about life as much as CP cares about this thread  :\

THIS thread got me to watch Shawshank, Forrest Gump, Oldboy, all the Hitchcock work, I was like that guy with Shaw. Knew it was probably great, just wasn't interested. And it was absolutely great.

Interesting he won't give it a try.

I thought it was from Pulp Fiction...but they say concentration

"Oh, I'm sorry, did I break your concentration?'

Wayment......

You have seen EVERYTHING, ever, and somehow skipped, Shawshank? Whaaaa? How? Why? Like 3 movies ever, got a 9 rating, 2 Godfathers and this one, and you skip it to watch I am Number Four multiple times? How in the......?

Trill, why you ain't get in on Avengers? You watch any of the other comics, Iron Man, Cap, Thor, etc? Or just ignore the genre altogether?

I understand well allow in the context of what the OP posted about this thread OGing being in S/T.

I've only seen Pulp Fiction once so I don't recall that quote.

It's a quote from a movie about foot massages and gold watches.
I didn't understand this reference until I read big j's post.

i have watched both iron mans, captain america, and the dark knight 3..

with the avengers i felt like people were telling me i had to watch and i had to like it too, if that makes any sense.

that goes for avatar too.

Well, I can see you not wantin to hear that from everyone, but in this instance it's just a matter of progressing the movies you already saw.

Iron Man and Cap and some others building up to a storyline. Then after this one, will continue yet again with IM3, Cap 2, Thor 2, etc. Eventaully, Avengers 2. You've seen the first couple pieces, if you liked them, then you should like the rest, but not because I or anyone else tells you too. You're just checkin out the next chapter is all.

Ok, now I might start restricting people in here.

it always looked meh to me so i never gave it a shot nor probably ever will. the matrix is gonna be on tv again in a few minutes, think i might give it a watch front to back for the first time. always seen in it pieces in classes and on tnt. is the trilogy worth getting into or should this be a one and done? i've seen most hate the 3rd but a couple love it, idk.

also watched batman begins again. gonna try and fit in tdk somewhere in the next couple of days.

They used to play it on cable every 5 minutes back in the day, but nah.

Never liked Tim Robbins. Never checked for a movie cuz of Freeman. Looked like paint drying to me. *shrug*

You should certainly give Matrix Reloaded a watch. Absolutely. Turn everything off, crank up the sound, you're welcome.

As for 3, skip to the final battle, last 10 minutes or so, enjoy the hell out of that, the end. You'll thank me watchin it that way.

If you were referring to Alias being meh, you are dead to me.

Ok, which one of you ******* repped the post sayin Alias was trash? Bout to body whoever it was. :smh:

shawshank's a classic. imagine a non challeneged forrest gump in prison with a fed up morgan freeman. a lot of despair and incapability of coping with change is presented throughout. really one of my favorite movies because of how easy it is to remember and recall. lots of images that stick to you in different ways.

When you put it like that....

One day. Not anytime soon, though. Bucket list.
