Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Apocalypse Now :smokin

Why don't they make more movies that look like this? So crisp and clear. It feels very present. I dunno maybe it's the HDtv but it really feels like you're almost there.

I don't think you can watch Tree of Life and do anything else. Turn off the computer and phone, get comfortable, remove all distractions, and just watch.

I think I was confused on chronicle and IAN4 because they came out around the same time.

I need to see Chronicle tho :pimp:

I was so excited for Tree of Life, I waited for it for a year and half when I heard about it. The cast and everything looked/sounded epic.

But man, I hate that movie with a passion. Never again.

^Damn.

I don't know what it is, but I just love the style, the weightless camera, the way the movie floats, the themes...I love the openness and how it lets you find the humanity in it and how that relates to you. It kinda let's you finish the painting. I think I've seen it like...****...5 times? I would watch that 4-hr cut Malick was talking up when it came out.

sidebar...I don't know how to quit 2 Broke Girls...What's yalls guilty pleasure show?

I hate how Hollywood kills everything. Zombies and vamps were cool but now they're just being thrown at us forty-five thousand different ways where only 3% are worth watching.

Sleepers is a great film, but tough. Really powerful throughout.

That pop tart print is good stuff.

When in recent history has a vampire film not named Twilight had any critical or commercial success? I know True Blood and Vampire Diaries are big with a lot of people, but I wouldn't say they killed Hollywood, because they haven't really been that big recently. Hollywood brought back vampires with Twilight, except, they were never really kind of resuscitated, they kinda just stayed dead.

There have been good vampire movies since the re-emergence of vampire films, but none have really had commercial or critical success.

As far as zombie films/TV go, you can thank the Call of Duty folks for that.

And the Zombieland TV show? Yeah, that's a thing. They just couldn't get a script good enough for a greenlight for a sequel, so they took away all the stars and made it into a TV show.

True Blood. :nerd:

They got me ever single season.

I just really enjoy the world they created.

i haven't watched 2 broke girls in a minute. it's worth catching up, huh?

tryna think of my guilty pleasure show, idk...i went on a Daria binge a couple of years back that might be it.

Man, Daria was/is awesome. I still catch reruns on Logo.

Bates Motel is playing just like another A&E show, Longmire, so far. I feel like I am re-seeing some of the same exact scenes with different people. And the whole dirty secrets in a sleepy town thing.

Ironically, both of them make me sleepy.

Edit: But... oh, Vera...

I probably would've fell off 2 Broke by now, if it wasn't for DVR, but everytime it pops up...Something bout lack of damns given on the clean channel, gets me. And Kat Dennings'

Bates...I'm not holding my breath on that show falling off a cliff. No expectations.

I can't believe none of the same people are involved with Longmire and Bates Motel.

There are so many similarities, it's unreal.

I never saw Chronicle, but I am number four was similar I think right? Wasn't that a book series but flopped as a movie so didnt continue?

Chronicle was legitimately a really good movie.

I am number 4 was a cheesy teen movie, Chronicle was great to me, I've seen it a bunch of times.

I'm about to rewatch the Sopranos for the 2nd time

Guess my guilty pleasure show would be How I Met Your Mother. Doesn't make me laugh but Barney Stinson is my dude, I always wanted to bang Alison since that one time in band camp, I enjoy Jason Segel, and Cobie Smolder isn't bad to look at either. I'm past waiting for the mother to show up so I'm not sure why I still watch but I do.

Couldn't keep up with 2 Broke Girls cuz I feel it's that uninteresting despite wanting to bang both the girls I will say Kat doesn't do it for me that much where I'd keep up.

I use to watch Glee but it got too gay for me. I also figured it should end after they eventually won that glee club singing thing but no they brought in more subpar females and got even more gay. Like this show even when you get past the singing and story lines is the poster boy for this movement and acceptance of gay characters being on almost every show and it now surpassing the black person quota.

I like Chronicle but it is a clear Akira rip off for America. Plot is simple which is fine but I really don't care for the lame that's a loser and a lame nerd with a bad home life that goes ballistic, akin to the ppl who shoot up high schools. Just didn't like that kid.

Same here. HBO Go app has me watching all the shows. I've just finished Entourage for the 2nd time in a year haha. Just started Curb and gonna start on The Sopranos after. This is gonna sound stupid but I'm a young dude and watching shows that started in like 1999 kinda bores me. The whole old school look...idk

Guys, I want to get into GoT so bad but I cannot get through the 1st episode. I always get to the part where the father (I guess) lets his kids keep the wolves puppy. Its just boring but Its a show I want to watch because everyone seems to like it haha.

GOT gets better with each episode.

Vera Farmiga just pulled a carrot from under her dress on the Late Late show with Craig Ferguson, I'm in love

I mean she was really digging under there for it for a while too before she pulled it out

Try not to think too much at the start of Game of Thrones, you'll pick up everything and everyone after a few episodes. Just stick with it.
