Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

I think I'm going to give Kick A** another shot. The only thing I liked about it at first was Hit girl.

One of my favorite movies of all time came in today. Shogun Assassin, it's been sampled a lot in Wu Tang songs. I have yet to see the original Lone Wolf and Cub series though
700

I know it was sampled all through out Liquid Swords, was it sampled in other Wu tracks? Also it's in Kill Bill 2 :smokin

Anyone seen the man from earth or beyond the hills?
I liked the Man from Earth, note that is is about 95% dialogue but it does make you think and "what ifs?" most of the time, and Ima look into beyond the hills

Beyond the hills was getting highly recommended by a NY 1 pannel. I had never heard of it. Has subtitles. I think it's about Romanian convent lesbians.

Outside of cheesy CC lines, what didn't you like about GI Joe Noble?

i dunno it seemed like it was just pieced together. i think if they made it longer it would have given them more time to bridge everything together. also not much action in between the begining and then the end.

i guess i just got my hopes too high lol

i think the best part was the whole side plot of snake eyes and storm shadow...

they never explained how storm shadow survived either or any background on flint or roadblock. i would have loved cobra commander to have a less deeper voice as well.

and what the hell was up with rza?

i think the next one will be better though. GI Joe has a ton of unique characters they can bring on in the future.

I loved the vehicle designs though.

I know people hate this cartoon but i think the movie should have went more the GI Joe Renegades route

I think the Storm Shadow thing was them being just like the cartoon. They bring in and out the different combo matches of characters as they want. For instance I'm positive Destro will be in the next one, Scarlett and Baroness could come back, same as someone from the Joes side. :nerd:

I hear ya on the bit of a letdown, but it was still an upgrade over 1. And it should build into a solid 3. We'll see.

^^^It might be the day drinking I'm doing, but that #%^* looks pretty funny. I was pretty much in just based on Emma Watson being in it, but now I'm really looking forward to it.

The Man From Earth was the one about the dude claiming to be immortal and at one time being Jesus right?

I saw that and liked it. Think somebody on NT had made a thread about it which is what put me on. Dunno if it's still on netflix, probably is.

Can' remember if I seen Beyond the Hills. Horror film?

I think I was the only one on NT who didn't like The Man From Earth

Ohhhhh...I remember that. It was like a $5 budget movie, but it was such an interesting clever idea, that it made you think...Hollywood really does have no ideas at all. This opened my mind and kept me fascinated as much as any big cgi movie, just with the power of thought. Good movie.

Nice I'm def gonna check the man from earth

Buddha, beyond the hills is a subtitled Romanian movie about an isolated convent. I think concerning lesbians. Doesn't sound for everyone haha. But all those pretentious critics on NY1 were gushing over it so Im def gonna check it out. It's out at the regular places :nerd:

i crack up when i turn on ny1 and they're discussing a play or something. always happens when i'm inotixicated too haha.

just added the man from earth to my instant que. may watch it after the michigan game. been wanting to write something different and sorta out there so this could be a fresh film to be inspired by.

Speaking of out there, Stephen king is writing a sequal to the shining. Gotta be a recipe for disaster right?

I never read the OG. Loved the movie. IT is still the scariest book I've ever read. Salem's lot is very, very good. Much more about the seedy side of the suburbs than vampires. His biggest issue from hat I've seen is he is usually terrible with endings. Which is a huge negative.

Anyone here read the dark tower series? I was gonna but then I read the ending and it sounds :x

I was looking into Dark Tower when they were talking about the movies being made but never spent much time.

I wanna watch The Langoliers. I remember watching that on USA when I was young and was mind blown.

I just saw that for the first time during the game. Looks straight out of a Sandler movie. :smh:

WOLFPACK TRILOGY!!!

It's actually a book. No idea if a movie gets made

That was a terrible trailer for hangover 3
