and :x@ you all loving pitch perfect. such a terrible movie. terrible plot, horrible annoying characters, and bad unbelievable ending

anybody else see the pilot for Rebel Wilson's New abc comedy series? Super Fun Night? They need to recast. Some of the actors on there are terrible. And whoever thought it was a good idea to make rebel wilson lose her uk accent needs to be fired.

I didn't think Pitch Perfect was bad, but I didn't like it nearly as much as some of the other people on here. Aside from the eye candy value, I wasn't that into it. I might give it another try though. Its one of those movies that the mood you're in when you watch can impact your perception of it. It does seem to have become the new NT movie thread cult favorite though. I'd say that title was previously held by Scott Pilgrim, which coincidentally, also has Anna Kendrick in it.

And Rebel Wilson with an American accent? That makes no sense. Her real accent is so much part of what makes her funny in the first place.

I'm going to see Upstream Color (second movie from the director/star of Primer) tonight, supposed to be excellent.

anyone checking for that new series on starz "da vinci's demons"?

looks interesting.

i'm going to need a new shoew to replace spartacus :frown:

So like many others I haven't been James Franco's biggest fan. Then I saw Spring Breakers and loved his performance. Now I've seen this interview with Howard and I hate him much less. My buddy who works for Howard TV said Franco is the first guest he did 90 mins with since Billy Joel in over 3 yrs.

For those that have some time to kill check this out

I see the greatness in Band Of Brothers. But that **** was boring as hell, the second half of the series had me falling asleep and I really struggled to finish it

:smh:

kdawg, I'm assuming you've seen The Pacific? Generation Kill?

I bought The Pacific a few months ago. Only watched the first one. I know it's not BoB but is like to make the time.

Don't know about Generation Kill. Thanks, I'll have to look it up.

I have a free trial of Lovefilm streaming and 10 minutes ago started Prison Break. Great watching the first one when you know what happens - all sorts of things I didn't pick up on the first time.

>D Tron's not a movie, it's a music video that you have to stop looking at whenever the music stops.

It's musical chairs for your attention.

And...this track is awesome:

rockets-mascot-throws-cake-at-fans-face

Tron: Legacy is a technological orgasm. The story may be shallow, but it doesn't take away from its wonder.

This is from waay out of left field, but I wish someone would redo Last Temptation of Christ. This was one of Scorsese few absolute misses mostly due to terrible, terrible casting. I love him but Harvey Keitel as Judas?!. Seriously?! It's a fascinating story (based on the book by Nikos Kazantzakis)... I would love to see this redone with the right cast.... I still listen to the Peter Gabriel soundtrack which has songs used in Natural Born Killers & other movies...

BTW, this is the best song off of the Daft Punk Tron soundtrack...

Yea...comedy's been weak since that summer Tropic Thunder, Step Bros and Pineapple dropped back to back to back. :smh:

I guess Django was the funniest movie last year for me...and then 21 Jump St. and Goon were really good.

If you reach, Silver Linings counts too?

It probably just hit me right, but I thought The Dictator was pretty funny too. It's not Borat, but it's good in it's own way.

And Wanderlust is pretty terrible, but youtube "Paul Rudd mirror." :nerd:

Good comedies recently:

21 Jump Street - Great actually

Safety Not Guaranteed

The Campaign

Juan of the Dead

The Watch

The Do-Deca Pentathlon

Ted - I didn't like it, but others thought it was good

Bernie

The Sitter

The Comedy

Most good comedies are dry humor now. It seems that the generic comedy is made for a 13 year old kid now.

The dracula musical had me in tears. Also this and Get Him to the Greek are the only things I'll ever like Russell Brand in.

I didn't like Get Him to the Greek nearly as much as Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Was just too much Brand in Get Him to the Greek. There was a little too much P Diddy too. But Forgetting Sarah Marshall was a funny movie.
