Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

my younger brother and I have decided to do this movie exchange thing. He chooses a movie for me and vice versa, since we both have very different tastes.

the first movie he chose for me is The Hobbit, and i'm giving him Bronson.

we'll see how this goes

Havent seen the Hobbit

Anna Kendrick man...never have I been into a actress that looks meh comapared to chicks i mess with. Idk man

Don't know how many of you watch Scandal (I remember psk saying it was a guilty pleasure of his), but last week's episode where they finally delve into Huck's backstory might have been my favorite episode of the series thus far.

They did a great job of showing why he's so ****** up. The things he was put through.

They even had my girl Astrid from Fringe playing Huck's love interest, which is kinda ironic since both of them are gay in real life.

That final scene in the subway.

Sidenote: My mind is still blown by the fact that the dude who play Huck was also Scarface in Half Baked. He looks like two different people on the show and in that movie.

After seeing a preview for Gatsby i feel i have to address this.

I feel like Leonardo DiCaprio is underrated ....

Like i when i hear great actors names brought up i rarely if ever here anyone give him praise.

dude has done some great movies over the years.

- The quick and the dead ( granted small roll )

- Romeo + Juliet

- Titanic

- The Man in the Iron Mask

- Gangs of New York

- Catch me if you can ( him and hanks in this movie

and now with Gatsby coming out and i think Big J said some about the Wolf on Wall Street.

The Brick I mean was from 2005. It's this film noir set in a high school, about a brick of heroin gone missing. It's like a new throwback. Really well made...first movie from the guy who did Looper, and. I guess it was the breakout role for Joseph Gordon-Levitt. One of the more memorable movies you'll ever see.

But I gotta warn you...the dialogue is uh...different. Could be a dealbreaker for some.

yeah the dialogue was very odd but I really enjoyed this film

Seven Pounds was extremely corny.

Rosario is fully naked in Trance

White House Down looks pretty awful. Jamie Foxx in a suit and jays yelling "get off my Jordan's" was the deal breaker for me. No thanks :x

Leo is currently the best actor in the game right now. I can agree he doesn't get talked about as much but I can see why when ppl are praising the upcoming strong run Gosling is having.

With that said, I feel this should be said, The Great Gatsby book isn't that good so I don't see why ppl keep hyping a movie about it. I don't feel any expectations for it. I probably won't see it any time soon. Especially with this one getting the Avatar treatment but with a twist style and forced substance.

I feel it will be a dud or just okay. I await Leo in better things after he returns from his break.

Gatsby is widely praised as one of the best books in American history, and for good reason.

I read it more than once and I disagree.

But I'm not about to discuss these books praised as the best literature in American history when they don't measure up imo *cough*like Catcher in the Rye*cough*.

So is catcher in the rye though and that book ain't even the best in JD's catalogue. The canon stuff is shady, only certain books get revered a certain way it's weird.

Disclaimer, I agree Gatsby is one of the best ever. I hope someone calls Leo Jay Gatz in this and the whole bootlegging past doesn't get lost in the adaptation.
