Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

Silver Linings Playbook: 11 out of 10

Simple.

Funny. Sad, but true.

So many quotables.

"I wish you didn't wear a football jersey to dinner, because I hate football, but you can f*** me if you turn the lights off, okay?"
(ummm... OKAY!!!

)

"Yes, I'm Tommy's crazy ***** widow... minus the w**** thing... for the most part."

And my favorite, basically the point of Tiffany's entire role in the story:
"There will always be a part of me that is dirty and sloppy, but I like that, just like all the other parts of myself. I can forgive. Can you say the same for yourself, f***er? Can you forgive? Are you capable of that?"

All Of This

i think this was the right thread to ask this question  but really how early do movie theatres open a particular theatre room before a movie starts? im trying to get in that theatre so i can get a good spot for the 3d showing.
Usually when the place opens all doors remain open when they start filling up each room cuz they usually don't keep showing the same movie in the same spot.

So it'd be like IM3 in room 4 and after that finishes A Place Beyond The Pines then something else. That's usually how I use to sneak in to see part of movies while I had tickets for the next one.
Will Smith as Ali was trash. Wow haha
Really?

So what is good character acting then? Did Jaime suck in Ray too?

Don't matter when the door opens, matters when the line starts.
Half hr before sounds good.

..

Jeez.

I don't buy the Kubrick trilogy stuff. That seemed like he forced it in there for no real reason.

The PTA trilogy makes much more sense. Even then it's hard to believe. But it's very interesting. This is the guy that convinced me the superman theory for punch drunk love Is real. That one has such hard evidence.

To plan that out over like 10 years. It's just hard to imagine. But it's intriguing. And I think the time line works that none of those characters lived in the same time period.

Just got caught up with the NBC comedies.....

The Office, I thought the last episode hit it outta the ball park. A solid office-centric episode. Much appreciated.

Community, GREAT episode IMO. Classic Troy and Abed storyline.

Parks and Rec. Sort of a weak season finale..... but enjoyed nonetheless.

Why does NBC have all 3 season finales of those shows staggered?

24 or sopranos?

I watched the 1st ep. of sopranos and was bored, but I can't judge the show just from one ep.

Shows don't have the exact same schedules and all three shows have different episode orders.

Plus it might make sense to stagger finales so you tune in on multiple weeks.

The Sopranos is the 2nd best television show ever, watch until the fifth episode "College", if you're still bored then it's not the show's fault. And give the show your attention, I don't know how you watch television or movies.. but don't play on your phone or browse Niketalk while you watch, it's not that kind of show.

SOPRANOS

Even fmyou don't like the ending. It isn't even a comparison. The sopranos is one of the best shows ever. Especially the first 2 or 3 seasons

Then again iyen I feel like I don't seem to have the same taste as you do some of your lists always seemed "off" so I'm not sure. Haha. But you should force yourself to watch the first 2 seasons IMO. It's required viewing.

I always thought big love was an under appreciated show and worth a watch if someone is looking for a show with a good run and an above average ending

Thanks for the insight.

If a show is boring me, my phone will be pulled out.

Which lists?

I'm into action and thrillers.

I don't remember u were just rating things quick and I remember being confused about the ones getting 5 and 4

It's whatever people have different tastes. If it bores you, no need to keep watching. But it really is a show that you have to pay attention to for the most part. In between the violence it gets slow. It's just as much about his fam as it is the mob

You mean if part of an episode is boring, your phone will be pulled out. Judging a show for one episode isn't fair at all. It's like reading one chapter of a book and making a call on the whole thing. Shows like The Sopranos, the Wire, Mad Men, etc. have so many important moments that you don't notice if you're distracted. There are shocks and surprises, of course, but it's the little things that add up.

And yes, The Wire is 1. Really 1A and 1B. Too different and aiming for different things.

I don't think spacey has the range that Hoffman and especially oldman do.

Loved him in American beauty though. What movie should I watch if I want to see a different kind of role for spacey? I heard the life of David gale is good but never seen it

Review: Iron Man 3 - "Unfortunately the third and possible final Iron Man installment is a colossal mess, riddled with plot holes and nonsensical action scenes. Downey Jr. has hinted that he can’t see himself play Iron Man much longer so if this is the way the franchise is going out, they’re going out with, not a bang, but an inaudible poof." - http://wp.me/p2CCWq-2Xh

Just finished kill bill 2...I didn't feel it.

I liked the dialogue such as the one eyed chick, bill, random asian people, and the mexican dude.

But by the end, I was just like ok...

Basically I don't understand why this movie is so praised.

This was the only tarentino films that I wasn't feeling.

My rating scale is based on aw yeah moments. If a movie is more memorable to me, than that my skew my ratings. But not by so much that it would matter to me.

That's what I mean.

In regards to the 2nd sentence, that's what I said I wasn't going to do.

I thought the wire was going to be boring, but I turned out to really like it.

Maybe the same will happen with sopranos.

If it's anything like goodfellas, maybe not.
