Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

So glad that is on a network now. I caught the last hour or so a few days ago. Loved it just as much as the first time. Wes Anderson's imagination is a national treasure.

Been wanting to re-watch End of Watch lately, too.
So glad that what is on a network? moonrise kingdom?

If so, I thought that hbo was considered premium "something or other?"

Network/channel same difference in this case. I do miss having all the movie channels on cable.. Came in handy so often.

Think I'm gonna watch Steve McQueen's films over the weekend. Never seen any of em but I'm a fan of Fassbender

Enjoy, I've really liked both Hunger and Shame and I'm looking forward to his next one.

Hunger and Shame!!
THESE MEN KNOW.

Shame was too weird for me. Just ******g weird.

Fast 6 was amazing. Loved the action scenes and cars. I also know the whole series is a joke and that's why I love it. Will see again.

Of course I delete Shame from my DVR thinking I wouldn't be interested

Now I'm going to have to look for it again to record.

Shame sees an acting clinic from Fassbender. Great movie overall.

I saw Shame when it was out in limited release in NY. I went out of my way to a fairly small theater in the city to see it. It was such a ridiculous experience watching the film. So raw and beautifully acted by Fassbender. The emotion and passion and anger in his character.

Steve McQueen knows what he is doing with Fassbender, they have such great chemistry.

For those that saw the film, they know that NYC acts as a secondary character in the film, watching Fassbender on the streets of NYC, looking up at the hotel room or running in the streets at 3am...

I walked out of the theater and and walked about 15 blocks to work afterwards and it was such an eye opening experience. Looking at the people of NY walking by after that movie...just a phenomenal film on all accounts.

Is Brad Pitt considered one of the really good actors?  I don't really pay much attention to him but i'm watching Se7en for the first time in a long time

and his acting seems bad, like really bad.  I'm also realizing that I don't really like this movie

Hard to believe it's the 30th anniversary of Return Of The Jedi. Entertainment Weekly had filmmaker Kyle Newman complete a short called The Return of Return of the Jedi: 30 Years and Counting featuring Kevin Smith, Seth Green, Chris Hardwick, Jaime King, Topher Grace, Fall Out Boy, Eli Roth, & Jason Mewes among others discussing the film's impact on them. Unfortunately, you can't embed the clip here so check out the link to see the 9-10 minute short...

Just not into those movies. A creepy sex addict that will hit anything. His own sister throwing it at him, then messes with men at the end. It was just WEIRD. Huge Fassbender and Carey Mulligan fan but nah, this isn't for me.

 Well yeah lay it out plainly those things happened but it was deeper than that, overall just seems like not the kind of movie for you.

I like character driven, introspective stories like that though. There's a lot to think about and a lot to interpret from it.

Pitt's probably a better actor than his resume would tell you. Not to say he doesn't have great roles and performances, because he does... but he's got a very strong blend of MOVIE STAR along with actor. So I think it's easy for some to immediately ignore his talent and ability for his obvious charisma and movie star charm.

What I'm about to say doesn't spoil any content in the movies...

The Hangover 3 is a heinous attempt at a comedy. DO NOT SEE IT! Honestly, you'll find yourself wondering these bizarre questions.

1.) Why is this a crime thriller, and why did Todd Richards think any of this was funny? Providing zero laughs is the "epic end to the trilogy"?
2.) They're not Hungover once in this movie, nor do they drink at all... uh..?

As for Fast & Furious 6... :pimp:

CP, you're going to enjoy that opening montage. Trust me. :pimp:

Film is A LOT of noise man. That's the only downfall. You might need tylenol at the end, but the action is top-notch. They make you suspend belief a number of times and you might just want to turn your bain off when you walk into the theater, but it's still a great action flick.

Tyrese had a MUCH bigger role in this movie. Dude's hilarious. at Hans' comeback to him on the bridge when they're talking about Hans' girl. You'll know what I'm talking about when you see it.

Luke Evans was pretty methodic as the bad guy... very solid.

The scene after the credits EVERYONE IN THE THEATER WENT NUTS. I'm literally talking, everybody yelling, screaming, "OH ****", "BEST SERIES EVER"... stuff like that. Stay for it, it's only like 30 seconds into the credits.

Also... Fast Six Too Furious The Sixth... yeah.... awesome.

Absurd action scenes, very funny dialogue and cheesy lines, eye candy, great car sequences, and overall a great summer blockbuster. The last one might be the better action/heist movie, whereas this one was a little weaker on a technical level. There were more lulls and slower points than the last, but it was just as over the top and loud as you expected and wanted.

Rottentomatoes describes the hangover 3 as an angrily dark action thriller.

Ummm. Why would the director think that's a good idea?

Can't wait to see fast 6 tomorrow. Regardless of the backlash for Hangover 3, ill go see it Monday morning for 6 bucks.

I'm pretty angry about the negative reviews for The Hangover Part III.

Not because "critics" and fans are writing bad reviews, but the reason they are giving for bad reviews.

I found it to be very funny, it's not perfect, but it's certainly better then 2 and it's a nice close to the trilogy.

Yeah, I'm beginning to think your taste may be a little more unique than most. You didn't like ST: Into Darkness, which everyone else seems to love and you liked Hangover III, which everyone else seems to hate. I totally respect you for having your own opinions, but my sense is that those opinions won't always be representative of the way the majority feels and there's nothing wrong with that.

 No.

Honestly man, the amount of forced f-bombs Cooper dropped, the throw in "WHAT IS GOING ON!?!??!?!" by Ed Helms that for some reason Todd Richards thinks needs to be in there every movie, the weird scene in the Pawn Shop that wasn't funny... can't even tell you how awkward it was in the theater, Justin Bartha being the cliche throwaway character for 3 movies straight, the whole giraffe scene was cringeworthy over anything, the scene with Carlos/Heather Graham wasn't necessary, the first scene in TJ was unformtable... ugh.

Just awful.

I was gonna say, Venom has been the lone opposite opinion on both movies that I have seen. Everyone likes Star Trek that I have read, cept Venom, and everyone has hated Hangover 3, cept Venom.

Least you on my mind I guess homie.

But if you bad mouth Fast 6, we scrappin. I'm seein that tonight and my review will be full of joy. And words.

I say welcome it. I don't agree with Venom's views on some movies and I kinda doubt I'll agree with him if I ever see Hangover 3 but when he speaks on why he feels that way it's cool to see a different perspective and opinion/taste on a movie.

I mean lets not front, it's a grip yall dudes who love the F&F franchise.

We spend way too much time talking about those car movies

Saw raising Arizona finally. Crazy what Cage can do when he actually tries. He steals the movie which is impressive considering how many good performances there are. Slow first third but its wild when it picks up. He destroyed that role. Great directing. The plot is thin

Still can't believe the movie was that bad. Seriously, one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Up there with Arthur, 2012, Last Airbender and Twilight 4. I saw it opening night and the theater was packed, theater was silent the entire film. You could see how bored everyone was.
