Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

so whats the consensus on After Earth?

Mind = blown at this bit about Will Smith:

He is the only actor to have eight consecutive films gross over $100 million in the domestic box office, and ten consecutive films gross over $150 million internationally and the only one to have eight consecutive films in which he starred open at #1 spot in the domestic box office tally.

that will and jaden interview posted a page or two back was really good. i'm a fan of will, especially his mindset outside of filmmaking.

NTer Julius Wrek posted this in the IM3 thread, I'll post it in here also - How Iron Man 3 Should Have Ended.

So I needed an hour and a half to kill last night, so I sat down and watched Hanzel and Gretel somebody killers or something.

Eh. It was different than I thought. Sort of strange hearing Gretel say "You gotta be ******g kidding me" Or see Hanzel tap the good witch. Okaaaaay.

Famke was the main bad witch, and she looked damn good. That was nice.

But honestly, why did I watch this movie, well,

1000

That's why. She is yummy.

:wow:
Interested to hear what Ska thought about it.
if I were a gamer, or if the movie had no Zion, no Nebuchadnezzar, no resurrection, and no Keanu Reeves talking, I would probably be a marginal fan.

so as it were? Meh.

^You watched all 3?

:smh: @ Hollywood remaking Blade Runner. Like it really had it's own cult following so now I think it'll either be terrible, worse than ppl who didn't like the OG or it'll appeal to more ppl and alienate the cult fans that loved it.

Bout to get back in to House of Cards now :smokin

i liked hangover 3. it was funny. i do not understand why people are bashing it

a penis cannot possibly be that small :smh:

Just got out of Star Trek Into Darkness......

Real real nice. Liked it alot. I watched the first one the other day to get prepped, I hadn't watched it since it first came out, really liked the way they put that one together, and this one raises the stakes big time.

But, while I enjoyed it, all I could do was think about Star Wars. This movie was 40% Star Wars, and God damn it, if he follows thru with this same thinking, holy mother of God what Episode 7 will be.

(He's going to solar flare every ******g lightsaber scene tho, isn't he. :smh: dah well, price I have to pay I guess)

This dude even used the word Dreadnaught in the movie. :wow: :nerd: :pimp:  Thank you JJ.

Now, the biggest reason, Benedict Cumberbatch. THAT is my new Thrawn. (Chester, am I crazy?) I LOVED that dude's performance.
On top of that, his attack where he ninja'ed everyone, hello Jedi/Sith battles soon to come. :pimp:

As for Trek, I liked it, but I remember the OG #2 plenty, and I don't know about the switch up. Eh, I guess I thought it was kinda cool, but just felt a smidge corny. He pulled it off well, but there was still some unease on my part. I imagine tho, if someone knows nothing about Trek, never saw the og second one, they'd love the hell out of this film. So far, it seems to have been well recieved by all.

Alice Eve, best 2 seconds of the movie, God damn. Let's hope there's more of that in the extended blu ray by about an hour or so. *please sir, can I have some more?*

Not a trekkie, but really enjoying this new generation, really smart, well casted, serious toned, hope they keep going with it.

8.5/10

sad thing is we probably wont see a third star trek movie anytime soon or atleast without jj abrams due to star wars coming up.

I thought they were gonna han solo captain kirk until the next movie

Benedict was bad *** but spock threw them hands lol

and i dont know if you guys ever had to watch soap operas but i could have sworn head klingon was black dude from general hospital haha

Im a sit out 3d for man of steel. I just rather concentrate on the movie than seeing flying **** coming at me...

It is crazy to me how JJ Abrams is jumping from Star Trek to Star Wars. Like that should be a bigger thing just given the resurgence of ST and the scope of SW. Beyond lucky. Plus the way he's talking he'll still be doing ST regardless.

He almost got in to a whole thing breaking down the differences on the Daily Show.

I'm worried Star Trek 3 will suck because of his focus on Star Wars :\

That trailer for Prisoners looks GREAT. :pimp: Hugh Jackman had sort of worn out his welcome with me with all these damn Wolverine movies... but what a tense trailer. :smokin And Paul Dano is just cut out to be a creepy dude.

Watched No Country For Old Men for the MILLIONTH time yesterday. :pimp:

Seriously, if y'all get a chance, check it out one more time. Yes, you've seen it 5-10 times, but check it out again. Masterpiece.

Anton Chigurh (Brolin: "Sugar?") will be the unthreatened peak of Javier Bardem's career. No matter what he did before or after that performance... it will not top how well he put a cold-blooded, psychopathic killer on the big screen for all of us to enjoy. Watching it this time around, I noticed and enjoyed Josh Brolin's performance much more as well. Staying cool in the moment of dire straits was something he really pulled off, and it added to the likability and intrigue of his character. Oh, and :smh: at myself. When Chigurh went back to drop Brolin's wife, I found myself wondering, "Uhhhh is this the extended edition? I've never seen this part."

Damn. Also crazy how when the villain, Chigurh, asked for a bystander's shirt when he was injured he was given it instantly without any compensation expected, and when the protagonist Llewelyn asked for it on the border when he was injured, the guys wouldn't quit asking for more. :smh:

And the way this film ended added to the mystique of it rather than detracted from it like many simpletons tried to argue afterwards.

The Purge I get... but After Earth?

Jaden getting these gift roles.
