Oh I'm sorry, Did I Break Your Conversation........Well Allow Me A Movie Thread by S&T

She killed Wait Until Dark but the robbers were a little meh for me, may have just been their characters. Need to go back and watch that one.

I don't know why but I watched Premium Rush three times already. Maybe I have not seen much (if at all) movies that revolves around bicycles. Probably will watch again this month when I'm bored.
When I watched this and was digging it so much I thought I can not remember the last movie that involved bicycles to this degree. It was cool cuz I just thought (something that's obvious but brought it to mind) there's a lot more you can portray in a movie than just typical stuff. The whole bicyclists and bicycle lane is kinda just there and taken for granted in the city and you never really think about it enough to wonder about their perspective.

Do wish the ending was better. It got an abrupt ending like Safe in that final scene.

EDIT

Almost peeped The Killing 2 hr S2 premiere but then I was like I aint watching 2 hrs of this, rather be on the internet.

if I were a gamer, or if the movie had no Zion, no Nebuchadnezzar, no resurrection, and no Keanu Reeves talking, I would probably be a marginal fan.

so as it were? Meh.

The Matrix is interesting because it was a film made basically at the boom of the internet. Technology was taking a whole new direction, and in film there were groundbreaking advances being made. The Matrix is a picture-perfect example of that.

I personally don't think any of the films hold up well over time. Especially the effects. Back in the early 2000s, they are great.

Complete opposite of that? The Lord of the Rings trilogy. That thing holds up gorgeously to this day.

Checked out the new show Family Tree on HBO and liked it. However, I can't imagine it lasting more than a season or 2. A lot of the humor is too quirky for it to have real staying power. But I'll watch it for as long as its on:

Well, Back To The Future was good. But already dated. "Son why are you wearing a life preserver?" Today that almost would be viewed as a life preserver as well.

Christopher Lloyd is brilliant, Michael J. Fox is corny but probably not for the 80s

And how does it happen that I've only seen this now? Well, I've got a notorious list of classics I"ve never seen.

The Godfather: Part II (and I don't hardly remember The Godfather)
Indiana Jones series
Casablanca
Animal House
E.T.
A Clockwork Orange
Terminators 1-3
Scream (any)
The Silence of the Lambs

The list just goes on.

Damn. Some of those I can get, but you've never seen a Terminator film?

That's almost as bad as never seeing Star Wars man...

I personally love A Clockwork Orange and Casablanca, they're really up there for me.

The rest are all great films (except the Scream sequels), and there's a few in there I haven't seen either.

Sam Mendes back for Bond 24, and Penelope Cruz set to be the oldest Bond girl ever at 40. Craig is 45 so it works. Besides, Cruz hardly looks 40, she'll do fine.

Between the Fast/Furious series, Bond, Marvel/Avenger series and Star Wars loading back up, I am one happy ************.

Penelope huh? Excellent. :pimp:

Also I thought Mendes was done? :nerd: Odd to see him come back, but he will be a welcome addition.

the remake??

its good to have low expectatons.

one of the worst movies I have seen.

makes the og look like an academy award winner...
the only movie in recent memory (like the past year or so) that I had high expectations were for Iron Man 3. Lesson learnt.

Usually I go in to most movies with low expectations, makes it much more enjoyable
Thanks Big J.

End of Watch was good but the way it was going I knew an ending like that was coming

A bit wild but they did a good job of me not being able to discern if they went overboard with the more serious situations or if they were just basing it off stuff that I know actually goes down.
Just finished End Of Watch. It was damn good.

I liked Premium Rush also. It was different than most movies, still a bad movie though.

Hesher was also cool but weird

Hesher was borderline brilliant. I hated that any negative reviews were based on his hopeless character. That was kind of the point, man.

Looks out for director Tony G. Williams' new doc called Carbonerdious, the rise of the black nerd. Below is a clip from the doc. I haven't seen anything about a release date yet.

Anyone have a review / seen Hesher?

The JGL joint from 2011?

:nerd:
I liked it. Dark humor, interesting to a point, and kept me entertained.

Nothing groundbreaking, just a good flick, could get a little introspective you really dig deep in to it. JGL does what he's suppose to with that character, the little kid was great, so was Rain Wilson, and I want to impregnate Natalie Portman.

Benicio Del Toro has signed on for Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as a Marvel contract, meaning he'll be in multiple other movies, ala Sam Jackson.

Umm, oh ****. :wow: :wow: :wow:

Say what you will, Marvel is NOT ******g around. If they somehow sign up Daniel Day Lewis I'ma discombobulate.

Short Term 12. There is nothing in the world like a good indie flick. It's like discovering a new band that you end up loving. I can't wait to see this. Stars Brie Larson and John Gallagher Jr. who play a couple struggling through issues while also working at a foster home. This got raaaaaave reviews at SXSW...

If that happens, it's over. I'd be in full fanboy mode. Probably mess around and have him play several heroes and villains at the same damn time.

When I seen the Benicio confirmation I got hyped thinking they might make him Thanos.

The Hangover is one of my top 5 comedies... With that being said Hangover 3 was a complete waste of money....**** was beyond terrible, I rather have been at work
disagree movie was good. better than 2 but not 1 but hardly ever any sequel is better than the original.

lol its still mind boggling to me how so many people hate this movie...
You just go by what everyone else is saying...

... and say the complete opposite.

Real talk, my man. Been noticed this about you. Years ago.

general opinion: "______ is overrated."

you: "I don't know just give it a shot."

general opinion: "______ is FIRE!"

you:" EXTRA wack. You're all sheep."

No hate. Just saying, it's definitely your persona.

I have a good friend I've had since high school that's a card carrying tree hugger. She told me years ago how inhumane Seaworld is & even said something that's mentioned in the trailer below with regards to they way Seaworld pens the whales/orcas. She said it's tantamount a human being held in a bath tub for most of the day.

Blackfish looks pretty good. The doc examines the death of the sea world employee a couple of years back & how it relates to the whales in captivity, etc.

^ I won't be watching that. I'll ******g rip the movie screen. I can't stand aquariums and zoos. It's disgusting how mistreated those animals are and people don't realize it. Orca's are one of my favorite animals, they're beautiful. I hate seeing the way that they are treated and then people expect them to be calm swimming in a small tub for 20-30 years that is triple the size of their body.

Back to movies, people saying the Hangover 3 was good are just trying to be different. Seriously, one of the worst movies I've ever seen. 2 was bad but this makes 2 look like There's Something About Mary or Wedding Crashers.

Does anyone else think The Purge looks like it could be decent? Gonna try to check out that and The Internship this weekend. Still have to see Fast 6, Star Trek, Iron Man 3 also
